David Gerard

For deleting comments from his talk page [1] [2] [3] -- Nx / talk 20:22, 25 July 2010 (UTC)

Per previous LJ ruling on the precise same issue - David Gerard (talk) 20:24, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
These comments were not trolling. You are abusing the LJ ruling to remove comments you don't like. -- Nx / talk 20:29, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
No, but they were posted by someone who is here only to troll, which is what the ruling covered. - David Gerard (talk) 20:31, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
Edit warring is tedious. Why do you want to be so tedious? ΨΣΔξΣΓΩΙÐWeaselly.jpgMethinks it is a Weasel 20:32, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
"...posted by someone who is here only to troll, which is what the ruling covered." That is blatantly false. The ruling said "delete the vile". Not just anything posted by someone you don't like. ħumanUser talk:Human 22:28, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
Suggested solution: Nx is free to preserve them himself. If he can't be bothered, they probably weren't that important - David Gerard (talk) 20:37, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
The point is that things here are done by discussion and consensus. The collective agreement is that this is the best way things are handled. You're currently exacerbating a situation by going against the advice and wishes of a fairly sizeable group. Users were given the right to revert anything that was obviously malicious, if people are disagreeing that it was obviously malicious then it isn't obviously malicious. You were not given the right to strip out talk comments because you didn't like the user that posted them. Scarlet A.pngpostate 20:45, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
I will be highly surprised if anything is accomplished here. Gerard continuously flouts the rules and does it with a cavalier disregard. Its time matters were discussed more seriously and for his eventual exclusion from the project by means of ostracisation. 86.40.104.238 (talk) 20:48, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, because the community's efforts to get rid of anyone "by means of ostracism" so far have been sooo successful...--ZooGuard (talk) 20:54, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
The final word there was: "obviously vile comments can be deleted by anyone. Others leave up to the person who's talk page it is. Article talk pages: delete the vile; ignore the trivial". I don't see any inherent issue in user talk pages being covered by that, since anyone with a message that's important can hit the saloon bar and have their comments stick - assuming it's not just a repetitive stream of junk. How about the concept that user talk pages are pretty much considered to be like our houses? i.e. we can manage them as we wish, but talk pages and the article talk pages (and other common area) should be treated more carefully? Concernedresident omg!!! ponies!!! 21:13, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
This doesn't really seem the right place to discuss that. Better at the Community Standards page. ΨΣΔξΣΓΩΙÐWeaselly.jpgMethinks it is a Weasel 21:29, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
That would be a huge change to policy we have had since day one - user page is their "castle", user talk page is community property - with the one exception we now sort-of have of deleting the "obviously malicious or vile". ħumanUser talk:Human 22:33, 25 July 2010 (UTC)

Nx

Has confessed that his troll-enabling behaviour is butthurt at not being able to rangeblock[4]. Can we go home now? - David Gerard (talk) 21:18, 25 July 2010 (UTC)

Yes, let us all make fun of this process, and ignore all the problems. That has worked so well before. -- Nx / talk 21:24, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
Process is important - David Gerard (talk) 21:28, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
Yes, making fun of it will solve all problems. -- Nx / talk 21:29, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
The "problems" here are that you spent a few months so ragingly butthurt that you couldn't block MC that you decided to promote trolling as hard as you could. That is, you have admitted that you deliberately exacerbated the problems you have now insisted on bringing to all attention. This strongly suggests the "problems" you are bringing to community attention are you being clueless. The solution to properly address them would be for you to stop it - David Gerard (talk) 21:50, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
(ec) Yes, clearly MC is only trolling because of me. -- Nx / talk 22:02, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
You've been proxying for him and encouraging him because you couldn't rangeblock him - David Gerard (talk) 22:03, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
Please cite where Nx has admitted such a thing. I don't see any "confession" in the post you linked above. ΨΣΔξΣΓΩΙÐWeaselly.jpgMethinks it is a Weasel 22:00, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
His edit comments of reversion over the past several months, particularly in the leadup to his LJ case. In any case, the solution to the actual problem presented in the above section remains: Nx, stop deliberately being a fuckwit - David Gerard (talk) 22:02, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
I say we let him rangeblock. EddyP (talk) 21:21, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
I agree, although on the understanding that it's a trial period to see how it works? Rangeblocking could get pretty widespread if MC decides to shift around proxies or use the college machines - assuming he's still studying. With the college IPs though he's far more limited in what he can do. Concernedresident omg!!! ponies!!! 21:27, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
I've not followed any of this, but is it anything to do with you getting pulled up deleting stuff from your talkpage, Dave? DeltaStarSenior SysopSpeciationspeed! 22:16, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
I delete trolling, Nx puts it back as an IP and his motivation is that he wasn't allowed to rangeblock Marcus so did his best to prove his perception of the rules broken by enforcing them ad absurdum. Rather than, e.g., not being a fuckwit - David Gerard (talk) 22:20, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
Telling you that you are wrong is not trolling, TK [5] -- Nx / talk 22:26, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
David, can you at least be civil about this? Considering the issue at hand is your perhaps abusive tendency to delete talk page comments? ħumanUser talk:Human 22:34, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
That sounds very like having pre-decided your answer, considering you posted it below someone calling me TK - David Gerard (talk) 22:48, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
Hmm, he added that after I clicked "edit". Nx, please don't call David "TK". David, please quit being a dick. And what "answer"? All I was doing was suggesting you leave out terms like "butthurt" and "fuckwit", at least in this discussion. ħumanUser talk:Human 23:58, 25 July 2010 (UTC)

Fuck off you obnoxious troll. - π 13:11, 27 July 2010 (UTC)
His punishment for this heinous offence is this DELICIOUS CAKE full of DEADLY NEUROTOXIN - David Gerard (talk) 13:39, 27 July 2010 (UTC)
i guess it was actually human in the wrong, sorry NX. Ex-Troll Cheerleader (talk) 13:44, 27 July 2010 (UTC)

Superhamster

He started by questioning my pottery writing skills and then went on to claim that I have no mental abilities. If this is not bullying, then I don't know, what is. --Idiot number 59 (talk) 08:03, 28 July 2010 (UTC)

Oh well, that's to be expected from age. AceX-102 08:43, 28 July 2010 (UTC)

Gerard again

Deliberate [provocation], smugness, and sustained abuses of power. Please sort out this user once and for all. Thank you. 86.40.205.7 (talk) 09:55, 30 July 2010 (UTC)

Although the troll commonly found at 86.40.*.* is commonly referred to as "MC", what is the evidence that this is in actual fact the person who was User:MarcusCicero? Considering the actual username is unblocked anyway - David Gerard (talk) 09:59, 30 July 2010 (UTC)
Radioactive afikomen should not have edited MC's userpage in the first place unless you are saying that RA is MC? Bondurant (talk) 10:16, 30 July 2010 (UTC)
You are so full of shit Gerard. Everybody knows you are attention seeking here. You know fine well that I am MC. And no, my account is constantly blocked. I wished ye had a bit of common sense and unblocked my MC account, rather than forcing me to edit via IPs. Its so obtuse and retarded. 86.40.205.7 (talk) 11:54, 30 July 2010 (UTC)
I can see no record of a block since then. If you are really MC, then the step to establish the fact is obvious - David Gerard (talk) 12:04, 30 July 2010 (UTC)

Quaru (talk) 12:00, 30 July 2010 (UTC)

You really are an obtuse twat. I am already unbinned in the sense that I can edit any time I like with any IP I like. And stop posting up events that happened before you ever arrived here, you pathetic NOOB. 86.40.205.7 (talk) 12:04, 30 July 2010 (UTC)
