Okay, this is sort of a partner to my essay on needed constitutional amendments. This one's less formal than the other one, and the proposed laws aren't written down.
Workers' Rights[edit]
Freelancing[edit]
- No restrictions may be imposed on freelancers by their employer(s) on where they may work.
- Freelancers shall be granted full workers' rights
- All freelancers shall be granted equal salaries to permanent employees
Interns[edit]
- Interns shall be granted full workers' rights
- All interns shall be granted equal salaries to permanent employees
Salaries[edit]
- The salary of each employee, freelancer, and intern must be published publically and into Creative Commons-Attribution-Share Alike or the public domain by the employer.
Minimum Wage[edit]
- The minimum wage shall be increased to the living wage of the town or city, and annually adjusted to inflation
Goals[edit]
- The tertiary sector of the United States economy shall move towards a four-day workweek and six-hour workday
Healthcare[edit]
- Medicare shall be expanded to all United States residents.
- Medicare shall be expanded to cover dental care.
- Medicare shall cover 100% of necessary medical and dental costs.
- Medicaid is to be abolished.
- Private health insurance and dental insurance shall remain, becoming supplementary to Medicare.
- The pharmaceutical industry in the United States shall be socialized.
- This amendment shall come into force one year after the date of ratification.
