Dizengoff Street bus bombing, 1994
Description
English: Israel was in shock after a terrorist bomb exploded aboard a public bus on Disengoff Street - one of the busiest shopping areas - exploded at 08.50 October 19, 1994, destroying the bus and taking at least 22 lives. On a day when Israel was suppoused to be celebrating the previous day's announcement that a full peace treaty with Jordan was to be signed, the terrorist outrage rocked the Israeli people. In the evening after the attack, demonstrations were held across the country against PM Rabin and his peace policies and against freedom of movement for Palestinians in Israel.
