(x-posted)The name is a nod to Coyote, a recurring character in Thomas King's novels and short stories. Coyote is a Native American trickster figure (similar to Anansi in West Africa) and King often refers to him a "That Coyote, That One..." We call him Coyote for short. And he's bad in loveable way, just like the figure he was named after...PFoster 19:36, 16 May 2008 (EDT)
Oh! - As a Brit, I claim immunity (Who Thomas King?) SusanG  ContribsTalk 19:39, 16 May 2008 (EDT)
Thomas King is a Canadian Native author (of mixed Native-Greek-American-Canadian heritage, but he identifies as Native)who writes phenomenal short stories and one great novel, Green Grass Running Water, plus a great work of critical essays/lectures called The Truth About Stories. He's awesome....PFoster 19:44, 16 May 2008 (EDT)
