For fair use the "commentary or satire" has to be about the image itself, not using the image for commentary or satire. The latter is the author's prerogative. Can you email them asking for permission to use any of their work anywhere on our site as long as we link to them? I suspect they'll say "yes"? ħumanUser talk:Human 05:59, 11 August 2009 (UTC)

I would not be so sure about that. Nevertheless I am operating under a cloak of anonymity and cannot send them a credible message. I have inserted some commentary about the image itself on the AiG page and removed the reference on TWIGO:CP; if this still does not meet fair use standards, just vaporize the image. I think the AIG use meets the standard. Thanks for taking care to do this right. If anyone else disagrees, well, we'll have to reconsider. ħumanUser talk:Human 06:45, 11 August 2009 (UTC)
As always, it's iffy. We'd be more secure on Fair Use grounds if there was a section/article about Dan Lietha and how lame (I'm not a fan of the word "lame" but that's really the only word that comes to mind) he is. I.e., how the Cracked.com article required you to look at the picture to understand the article. WP, for instance, needs a rationale for every use of the image, not just hosting it, but I imagine that an article on Dan Lietha would certainly add some extra oomph to the Fair Use Rationale that can't hurt.
