Short story shorter...

Peter "Of England" Smith, long-time Freeman-on-the-land, would-be guru, sole proprietor of Shut Up And Leave The Court Freeman Legal Services and self described legal expert recently decided that if the government and the 'banksters' could create money out of nothing so could he and, armed with nothing more than a mail-drop address and a mobile phone, he came up with the WeRe bank.

The basic principle is that for the bargain price of £25 you can (after joining the 'bank' for £10 per month) purchase a book of 50 cheques and start paying off your debts without actually having to deposit any money in to the bank to cover them. Needless to say this blatant mass fraud financial master-plan has lasted about as long as it took for the cheques to hit clearing.

Rather than bore you with a blow-by-blow account of this slo-mo train-wrteck I'll just point you in the direction of the quatloos forum and their excellent thread following the shenanigans which has all the links to all the insanity you could possibly need...
