There is no RationalWiki without you. We are a small non-profit with no staff—we are hundreds of volunteers who document pseudoscience and crankery around the world every day. We will never allow ads because we must remain independent. We cannot rely on big donors with corresponding big agendas. We are not the largest website around, but we believe we play an important role in defending truth and objectivity. |
Fighting pseudoscience isn't free. We are 100% user-supported! Help and donate $5, $10, $20 or whatever you can today with ![]() ![]() |
Fun:Pseudoscientific method
![]() |
Tired of laughing? RationalWiki has a slightly more serious article about Scientific method. |
The procedure of the pseudoscientific method is:
- Make a claim.
- Test the claim by conducting an experiment.
- If the results of the experiment match the claim, then write QED.
- If the results of the experiment don't match the claim, come up with an ad hoc explanation.
Controls[edit]
Experimental control groups are bad. Why would you test something other than what you want to be true. It's a waste of everyone's time.
If you must have them to please some weirdos who think it's necessary, make sure to avoid things like placebos or blinding for your controls. It's mean to blind people.
