2025 RationalWiki 'Oregon Plan' Fundraiser

There is no RationalWiki without you. We are a small non-profit with no staff—we are hundreds of volunteers who document pseudoscience and crankery around the world every day. We will never allow ads because we must remain independent. We cannot rely on big donors with corresponding big agendas. We are not the largest website around, but we believe we play an important role in defending truth and objectivity.

Fighting pseudoscience isn't free.

Fun:Trisecting an angle

From RationalWiki
Jump to navigation Jump to search

Trisecting an angle is, contrary to the reports of most mathematicians, very easy to solve with a compass and straightedge.

  1. Remove the pencil from the compass
  2. Find a person with a protractor
  3. Steal their protractor. Use the compass if need be
  4. Use the protractor to measure the angle
  5. Draw lines at 1/3 of the angle and 2/3 of the angle
  6. Ta-da! You have trisected the angle starting with a compass and a straightedge
