Fun talk:Nova Scotia
I think that the statement "that has been made warmer in recent years due to global warming" should be removed becuase it is nothing but silly liberal propaganda. Global Warming is a stupid myth created by Nazis to destroy freedom 23:36, 29 November 2007 (EST)
- Well, so far, the vast majority of the science seems to disagree with you, GWISMCBNTDF. And, unless empirical reality is the same as liberal propaganda, then you seem to be wrong. What can you bring as a reference to the contrary? Researcher 23:38, 29 November 2007 (EST)
- As much as I hate to agree with GWIRJGHEIRHG!$#JNGS, is the statment, factual or not, really necessary? Couldn't we put that exact same line on every single article about geographical locations, along with "they have air" and "sometimes the sun shines there"? Lurker 23:50, 29 November 2007 (EST)
- Lurker, that's a really good point. The only reason I could see for keeping it would be if global warming had a *particularly* bad effect on the area (as it has for some tropical island chains like the Comoros--in another 10-20 years that country won't exist anymore). Anyone know anything in particular? Researcher 00:01, 30 November 2007 (EST)
- Yes it will. Global Warming is just a stupid myth created by Nazis to destroy freedom.
- Perhaps you can then explain how they are losing a few feet in diameter each year, if not rising sea levels? Researcher 00:09, 30 November 2007 (EST)
- Simple, the land is sinking in the sea. Its not rising sea levels, its lower land levels on the island as land shifts throughout the earth. GWiaSMCbNtDF 00:15, 30 November 2007 (EST)
- Please, please tell me you are joking. No, it couldn't possibly be that the ice that has melted off the shelf of Antarctica is making more water, it has to be the land that the island is on is sinking into the mantel of the earth? Researcher 00:16, 30 November 2007 (EST)
- Eheheheheh. GWGTFOWTFBBQRTFM's funny. (Btw, I don't know of any place in particular, but then again, I don't really pay much attention to all the GW stuff. I'm evil, I know, but I just can't get myself to care.) Lurker 00:19, 30 November 2007 (EST)

The effects of global warming are quite apparent in Nova Scotia. In 2003, Halifax was almost destroyed by a Category 3 Hurricane known as Don Juan. The winter of 2005-6 was the warmest on record. 2006 was Nova Scotia's second warmest year ever recorded (1999 was the first). that is proof that global warming is having an enormous impact on the area despite what fascist conservatives say.
- This is because of the Sun, and is not connected to the lower land levels in any way. GWiaSMCbNtDF 18:17, 30 November 2007 (EST)
- Is there some way in which the Sun has changed in the last one hundred years? Because, as far as science can tell, it's the same damn star it's always been. Researcher 18:42, 30 November 2007 (EST)
- WRONG. The sun is turning into a red giant! GWiaSMCbNtDF 20:42, 1 December 2007 (EST)
- WTF? Can you show anything to back that up? Most scientists say that the sun will not go giant for another 5 BILLION YEARS. Researcher 22:40, 1 December 2007 (EST)

Somewhere[edit]
I read that Greenland is actually rising due to all that weight (ice sheets) being gone. The whole island lifted by about 7.5cm or something? 18:54, 30 November 2007 (EST) CЯacke®
- Probably from some stupid liberal propaganda story. GWiaSMCbNtDF 19:03, 30 November 2007 (EST)
- Christalmighty, can you cut the reactionary bullshit? My post was supposed to be a Good Thing for your side...dolt.CЯacke®
- Except that your post suggests the ice is melting off, which implies global warming. Researcher 19:09, 30 November 2007 (EST)
- But that the result is the island rising offsetting the rise in sea-level so that the poor people of Bango-bango are safe from the sea inundating their miserable island.CЯacke®
- But that's only true due to the weight on Greenland...the Comoros (etc.) don't have that kind of weight being released from on top of them. (The problem is actually severe enough that some of the little island nations have considered formally declaring war on the most carbon-emitting states, like the US and China.) Researcher 19:23, 30 November 2007 (EST)
- Yea right. GWiaSMCbNtDF
- Very witty comback, GWIASMCBNTDF. I guess they never considered that fact. Researcher 19:28, 30 November 2007 (EST)
- The island nations are doing ok, m'kay? GWiaSMCbNtDF 19:31, 30 November 2007 (EST)
- Here you go, straight from, yes, FoxNews! http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,238634,00.html No, the tropical islands are NOT ok. We are losing ground at a fantastic rate, with people needing to be evacuated. In time, even areas that today are inhabitable will not be, and we will see mass migrations much like in the 1800s in Africa, the kind that caused the Zulu wars. Except they will be world wide. Researcher 19:45, 30 November 2007 (EST)
- No we won't. Its just a dumb bullshit conspiracy. GWiaSMCbNtDF 19:52, 30 November 2007 (EST)
- Since you seem completely resistant to facts, even from conservative sites, then I must say there is nothing left to talk about. Researcher 19:54, 30 November 2007 (EST)
- They are not facts, moron! GWiaSMCbNtDF 19:56, 30 November 2007 (EST)
- What are not facts? It's not a fact that the ice sheets in Greenland and Antarctica are melting? It's not a fact that a whole damn island (that people used to live on!) is now under the ocean? Those are, by definition, facts. If you are blind to them, that is no longer my problem. Researcher 20:03, 30 November 2007 (EST)
- Its not that i dont belive you when you say that the islands are underwater, but it is because of the land sinking into the mantle. GWiaSMCbNtDF 20:16, 30 November 2007 (EST)

(undenting) Then why is it that it is JUST now happening, all over the Indian and Pacific Oceans? Islands that have been inhabited for centuries (or even millenia) have only started shrinking in the last century, and at an increasing rate. Why would they just start sinking like that? If something of that magnitude is changing within the earth's mantle, then we have even more to worry about that just some islands disappearing. (Also, I notice you did not respond to the shrinking ice caps.) Researcher 20:18, 30 November 2007 (EST)
Britain's sinking into the sea, too. Damn you AKJeldsen, and all you other Scandinavians exerting unbalanced moments on the Earth's surface! -- מְתֻרְגְּמָן וִיקִי שְׁלֹום!
