<article | title=Evidenceofharm | closed=no> Article of the Weak: An introduction to David Kirby's Evidence of Harm
David Kirby is a journalist whose claim to fame is touting the resoundingly rejected idea that thimerosal in vaccines causes autism. He is a scaremonger of the worst sort, who profits from selling false hope and pushing quack medicine. Our current focus is the introduction to his book Evidence of Harm. The rationality-based community has met Kirby head on, and dismantled his claims repeatedly, but he is still around. Some of the highlights of the rational point-of-view from around the web include:
- British Medical Journal's review of the book
- ScienceBlog Respectful Insolence has many posts taking Kirby apart, here is just one.
- Internet blog Submitted to a Candid World was attacked by a swarm of Kirby's followers after a post about planed talk by Kirby at NYU. After the attack a good blog post was put up highlighting some of Kirby's many flaws in logic.
- For some general background see RationalWiki's own article on vaccine hysteria.
