3, 5, and 10 year goals? What "year" are these from, or do we want such ambiguity as "will be back in 30 minutes", so only those who have waited 30 minutes can accuse you of being late?Green mowse.pngGodot The ablity to breath is such an overrated ability 18:55, 7 August 2013 (UTC)

Transparency needed on this site[edit]

I don't know if this is in the Foundation's plans but it should be - there needs to be transparency about the current state of affairs of Rational Wiki.

For example, falsehoods like this should be removed:

  • The Foundation does not exercise editorial control over any of the content on RationalWiki.

That may have been reality at one time, but right now the Foundation very much does exercise editorial control over certain content.

And even though Rational Wiki is a completely new organization now, registered in a different state, it is still burdened by agreements made by the former organization. Deals so extreme that you can't even mention the forbidden content.

Users shouldn't have to learn there are some content restrictions on this site by reading about it elsewhere, like on my site or by chancing upon discussions on this site.

Or worse, by unknowingly violating a content restriction and then having their work deleted.

Whether or not the Foundation can and will take steps to remedy content restrictions is a separate issue, as existentially important as it is.

But for the purposes of transparency it doesn't matter why - it is reality and the Foundation has a responsibility to warn users that there are landmines under some mission-critical topics.

Otherwise the Foundation is just playing bullshit PR games. Pinkerite (talk) 22:42, 25 July 2025 (UTC)
