Can I make the edit about real greenhouses? Weirdbeard 12:24, 2 August 2008 (EDT)

Yeh, OK, if you really must 82.45.165.45 12:25, 2 August 2008 (EDT)
OK, now that I've logged back in I'll go do just that Weirdbeard 12:26, 2 August 2008 (EDT)
Since you're really me that's just fine. But you'd better log back in again first ... 82.45.165.45 12:27, 2 August 2008 (EDT)
Right here, I am then. Why the hell am I talking to myself? Weirdbeard 12:28, 2 August 2008 (EDT)

In other news[edit]

You're in for a nasty surprise. I'm going to stop teasing you now, though... ^_^ ~ Gloom(is never asleep) 12:29, 2 August 2008 (EDT)
I enjoy talking to myself though. I'm usually the only one who knows what I'm talking about :-) Heavens, I have to go to the BBQ Weirdbeard 12:31, 2 August 2008 (EDT)

Reworked[edit]

It was about time William M. Connolley (talk) 21:37, 12 October 2011 (UTC)

Looks better. Not sure about "the Earth is heated by two sources" bit because there's also a small (nigglingly negligible) quantity of geothermal energy, and then heat retention and redistribution by the hydrosphere... just seems like it's liable to be more confusing than the "blanket" analogies. ADK...I'll wash your homotopy! 21:44, 12 October 2011 (UTC)
Geothermal is negligible (though it might be worth stating that explicitly). The hydrosphere isn't a source (well, you know that, I'm just expanding) it is just part of the "more complex than that" bit; the article doesn't cover seasonal or diurnal or geographical variation either William M. Connolley (talk) 21:47, 12 October 2011 (UTC)
Well, in that respect the greenhouse effect isn't so much a source either as much as it's a mechanism for shifting equilibrium. There might be a better way of wording it somewhere. ADK...I'll bless your respiratory system! 21:54, 12 October 2011 (UTC)
