Well, a good and interesting page. But if you think this article will attract more chatters, I'm afraid you are wrong. People (that is, me) get scary of all those technical explanations, options, etc. Editor at CPBring TK back 18:04, 14 February 2008 (EST)

Actually, all ya gotta do is download an IRC client, click on "yes" about six times, then enter the freenode.net and #ratwiki things & you're typing away, about virtually nothing important, with almost nobody. humanUser talk:Human 18:20, 14 February 2008 (EST)
PS, as I recall, RA posted a handholding guide for me to do it on my talk page. humanUser talk:Human 18:21, 14 February 2008 (EST)

Alright, so this is a nice article, but, why on earth do we have this thing? --MikallakiM 18:11, 6 August 2013 (UTC)

Why do we have any media articles (The Guardian, The New York Times, Farcebook)?? I say Keep. Ithaca (talk) 18:21, 6 August 2013 (UTC)
Well those are specific outlets, subject to proprietorial bias etc. IRC is just a way of communicating. Having an article on it is like having an article on ink. SophieWilderModerator 18:54, 6 August 2013 (UTC)
Since it's mostly a guide to helping RWians communicate through IRC, maybe it's a better idea to move it to the RationalWiki namespace? Not that anyone appears to use it in the first place, but that seems a separate matter altogether. AntiDeathPill (talk) 02:36, 7 August 2013 (UTC)
We used to have our own IRC channel back in the day, it probably dates from that. Move is good for me. SophieWilderModerator 08:28, 7 August 2013 (UTC)
Lacking any other objection I'm going to go ahead and move the page to the appropriate userspace and see if I can find a place to work in a link in the RW documentation. AntiDeathPill (talk) 13:16, 9 August 2013 (UTC)
