Can we remove the "This Debate was created by" bit? I'm sick of seeing users start debate pages with unsigned comments, which is what this seems to be encouraging them to do. It's much easier to read a debate/discussion page if each person has signed (& timestamped) their post, as signatures usually stand out clearly from the text, rather than to have to search in this little box to see who made the opening comment. €₳$£ΘĪÐWeaselly.jpgMethinks it is a Weasel 10:36, 13 November 2010 (UTC)

I agree. -- Nx / talk 13:37, 13 November 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, we can do that... The signed users bit was added before the Saloon bar when people were starting their own debates as pages. At the time it was handy to know who started the topic (mostly for following the arguments) but it never got updated. I'll take care of it. A hell of a lot of these start with an unsigned comment. We need to go through & {{unsigned}}-tag them. I've temporarily taken this template back to displaying the username as it makes doing this quicker & easier. €₳$£ΘĪÐWeaselly.jpgMethinks it is a Weasel 11:32, 14 November 2010 (UTC)
I could run NxBot on them to automatically sign them, but I'll have to modify the code, and that'll have to wait a few days. -- Nx / talk 11:37, 14 November 2010 (UTC)
If you think that'll work. The problem is that sometimes it's not immediately obvious which is the unsigned comment - would the bot get this info from the edit history rather than the indenting & signatures on the page? Also, sometimes the person whose name is in the template is just somebody who cut & pasted a debate which started elsewhere, so there isn't really an unsigned post at all. €₳$£ΘĪÐWeaselly.jpgMethinks it is a Weasel 11:46, 14 November 2010 (UTC)
It uses the edit history. It'll have to be reviewed, but at least we won't have to type everything in. -- Nx / talk 11:50, 14 November 2010 (UTC)
