colour[edit]
i tried messing with horrible peach colours to differentiate them clearly from ordinary text. sadly, blue, red and dark shades of grey will get confused with wikilinks and ordinary text. any suggestions? what about a green? 194.6.79.200 13:54, 23 June 2009 (UTC)
How it looks[edit]
Author: "Quote"
I'm not sure there's much of a need, usually most people just "quote in line like this" and merge it in with the prose in a more flexible manner, Person A "said this" while "this" was said by Person B. Otherwise it's People using inline: "could quote like this" . If you want it to stand out, it's best off done with cquote. narchist 14:42, 23 June 2009 (UTC)
- well, what caused me to create it is that a lot of people seem to go by a particular convention - putting the quote in comic sans font. it happens often enough on the WIGO:CP talk page (i could hunt down many recent examples) that i thought a time-saving template might be useful, and would also make it easier to colour a little bit to differentiate it from your ordinary text.
- it's odd, because instead of using quotemarks, they just leave the comic sans font face to do it all, and it looks so similar to everyone else's text that it can be difficult to read.
- of course, people can quote how they want, and in most cases a different style is far better, but this kind of 'tinyquote' might yet be useful 194.6.79.200 15:34, 23 June 2009 (UTC)
- Hmm, I can sort of see the point there. It'd be interesting to put together the miniscripts that tend to go on WIGOs. Editor: "You're wrong" Andy: "Blocked" TK: "RANGE BLOCK! LOL" sort of thing. narchist 15:40, 23 June 2009 (UTC)
