Are trans women allowed to edit such articles?[edit]
Trans women are well, women, but what about this template? Do trans women like me count? Bhp99 (talk) 10:29, 21 October 2021 (UTC)
- No shortage of thorny issues cropping up in recent changes lately. Trans women are women. I think the template would be better if it specified whether or not it meant cis women. This is a very difficult topic to talk about. It has a lot to do with male privilege, and transition. A lot of transgender women transitioned pretty early on in life, they knew, and that's great for them. For late transitioners, they will have a lot of lived experience where society sees them as their birth sex, and privilege is very much based on people's perception of you from my understanding. That said, I don't think it is fair to say that transwomen haven't been met with sexism or misogyny or had to deal with being treated like every other woman when they have lived as one, so no, I don't think that women should be excluded from editing women's articles.
