Behavioural patterns of iSheep 👑Apple users👑[edit]

A common behaviour of 👑Apple users👑, is labelling new features and capabilities of products of competitors (e.g. Galaxy S4Wikipedia in 2013) as superfluos or feature creepWikipedia and flooding online forums with their criticism, while labelling similar features on Apple devices as innovativeWikipedia[1], which is a form of double standardWikipedia.

One example is the “dual camera” mode that Samsung introduced on the Galaxy S4Wikipedia in early 2013.

It allowed capturing photos and videos from both cameras simultaneously, which was labelled “feature creep” by the same internet forum users who consider slim design as a valid justification for smaller, non-replaceableWikipedia batteries.

More examples include fast chargingWikipedia (Samsung Galaxy Note 4Wikipedia (15W) in 2014 and OnePlus 3Wikipedia/3T (20W) in 2016), wireless chargingWikipedia (Galaxy S3Wikipedia in 2012), multi-camera systems (HTC One M7Wikipedia, LG G3Wikipedia, Huawei P20 ProWikipedia, Huawei Mate 9Wikipedia), AR camera (Sony Xperia Z2Wikipedia in 2014), water resistance (2012: Xperia VWikipedia, 2013: Galaxy S4 activeWikipedia, 2014: Galaxy S5Wikipedia, early 2016: Galaxy S7Wikipedia), 2160pWikipedia video recording (Galaxy Note 3Wikipedia in 2013), 1080p front-camera video recording (Galaxy S4Wikipedia, early 2013), all of which were features AndroidWikipedia-based mobile phones had years ahead of   Apple iPhone  s, which were labelled as unneeded and/or superflous by critics on forums and social media, the same people that would consider it as innovative when Apple introuduced the same or a similar feature on their mobile phones years later (e.g. 18W fast charging, while Android device manufacturers already surpassed 40W and Huawei's Mate 30Wikipedia already has 27W wireless charging).

In addition, Air View on the Galaxy S4 (released early 2013) was often mentioned in essayWikipedia articles that labelled it as feature creep.[2][3]. Unlike “Air View”, the similar 3D touchWikipedia feature on iPhones since 6sWikipedia (late 2015) is not known to be repeatedly labelled as “feature creep” by critics.

Another observation is that the same   Apple iPhone   users, including many celebrities, who historically stated the slim build of Apple   Apple iPhone  s as a reason for purchase (e.g. iPhone 6Wikipedia, iPhone 6sWikipedia), purchase the iPhone 11Wikipedia despite of its 8.3mm thickness[4], which means that the thickness suddenly does not matter when Apple made a mobile phone thicker than usual. This proves that, unlike the Apple logo, the actual functionality of the device didn't play a role in the purchase of earlier Apple   Apple iPhone   models.

This behaviour is caused by a mixture of cognitive biassesWikipedia, including the sunk cost fallacyWikipedia, confirmation biasWikipedia and cognitive dissonanceWikipedia.[5]

Apple is notorious for historically favour design over functionality and robustness. One example is the iPhone 6sWikipedia, released on September 9th 2015, was equipped with a battery that could only hold up to 1715 mAhWikipedia, which is considered rather menial compared to other mobile phones such as the Galaxy Note 4Wikipedia (2014) with 3220 mAh or the Galaxy Note 2Wikipedia (2012) with 3100 mAh.

The core purpose of a mobile phoneWikipedia is its functionality, of which Apple historically had less.Wikipedia
