There is no RationalWiki without you. We are a small non-profit with no staff—we are hundreds of volunteers who document pseudoscience and crankery around the world every day. We will never allow ads because we must remain independent. We cannot rely on big donors with corresponding big agendas. We are not the largest website around, but we believe we play an important role in defending truth and objectivity. |

Yes, I may be a nerd, but I'm a logical nerd, at least. There's always that. Or at least that's what I keep telling myself when I'm alone on a Saturday night.
Trekkie, gamer, generally regarded as an asshole because of a strict, Vulcan-like adherence to science, logic, rationality, and the scientific method.
In case you were wondering, the most illogical thing I do is make less money than I need, and drive a fancier car than I should. But when you're roaring down a long stretch of straight, empty Oregon highway at 146 miles per hour, surrounded by the natural beauty of the woods, high out of your mind on LSD, top down in a rainstorm but going so fast that somehow the inside of the car stays dry (come at me on this one, physics nerds!), maybe you, too, will understand the value of a 325 horsepower engine.
And it's then that you'll realize that logic and rationality aren't everything. They're just 99.9% of everything. :)
Oh, did I mention that Hunter S. Thompson is one of my idols? But truth be told, I'm more like his esteemed lawyer than the man himself.
