Failure to 'user-befriend' (new verb)

Hello stranger, I am paddling in the dark, I welcome your presence. If you visit again, look to see changes in this text, improvements in conciseness and precision sought.

My first quest was to look for a safe place to expose my thinking free of the wolves who like to waste their time and other people's time with juvenile attacks on one's work on this wiki. Though this 'user' page is the only area claimed to be protected from such waste, the said protection stands vulnerable to interpretation of the exceptions, I am not holding my breath.

Well, one has to start somewhere. ...and here I am, green, facing a hodgepodge of non-intuitive typical crap from the realm called humanity who repeats the same faults generation after generation. Though this engine is a masterpiece in and of itself, it still falls short in critical areas, repeating the same lack of intuition common to all engines on the Internet. ...and surely, one must be seasoned to perceive this mediocrity. It took me years to get out of the box myself, thus include me in the bashing. Ironically, I also have resigned myself to avoid to make any suggestions as to improving the tools. Simply tired of facing stubborn adversity.

Why even mention it? Hold your pony, the list is long for a good reason... We are talking User Interface and implementation. As a quick analogy... if I mention the word 'tennis', even if you do not play tennis, your mind immediately brings a ton of 'things' into the forefront: Tennis racket, tennis balls, the sound of the racket hitting the ball, the back and forth head-bobbing of those watching the players, a tennis net, a high sitting umpire, ball boys/girls, ... I can go on and list dozens more.

Thus you now have a good idea of the massive retrieval the brain does once a trigger triggers. Guess what? When I experience a software engine, as soon as I attempt to navigate it, 100s of 'things' immediately cloud my experience. Simply disgusting, that after so many years, the programmer's community is responsible for a super-massive waste of time at the most critical level, the operating of the tool, the ergonomics!

First loss: having to speed read thru the massive help section to find the few answers I needed to aim precisely rather than falling into a hap-hazard attempt. Granted, I have seen much worse... this help section is better than average while it only barely hovers over average. ...and average in the relative magnitudes blindly expressed here simply boils down to mediocre.

another loss: though the unique feature of RationalWiki where individuals are allowed to bulldoze thru each other's work might be cute, it is a waste of precious time for all. If there is a requirement that it remain, it needs to be implemented in a different way. First it should not be on by default, a settings area should be presented to the new user with choice to turn it on if wish.

So, if safe from the juvenile minds. I may devote more time to complete this write-up. I am busy with life... don't expect an avalanche throwing you off your bed, this will be slow.
