User:Termagant
Hello. I am Termagant.
Historical context for my name: In the Middle Ages, Europeans viewed Islam as a dark reflection of themselves. Everything good in Christendom had an evil or sinister Mohamedan counterpart. This went to the point of creating an Islamic variant the Holy Trinity; never mind the fact that in Islam, suggesting that anything remotely infringes upon Allah's absolute oneness (as the Trinity does) is the ultimate heresy. This Unholy Trinity always featured Muhammad, of course, but nobody could agree on who to round the thing out with. The Song of Roland solves this problem by teaming Muhammad up with Apollyon--an evil angel who appears in the Book of Revelations, no relationship to the Greco-Roman deity--and something called "Termagant." Who or what Termagant was, nobody knows. But I like the name.
