For the "Politically motivated corruption of religion is anticipated and blocked only by conservatism." Shall we make a list of conservatism-motivated corruption of religion and put it somewhere? [[User:K61824|]][[User_talk:K61824|]] 19:23, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

Be my guest. Mjollnir.svgListenerXTalkerX 19:31, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
That'd be some list. You could start with Roman emperors cherry-picking/texas sharpshootering the Sybilline prophecies and work forwards from there. It's probabaly been done by most rulers and quite a few Popes etc. Totnesmartin 19:34, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
The whole doctrine of papal infallibility came about because of the "Syllabus of Errors" in which the Pope announced that separation of Church and State was an heretical idea. Mjollnir.svgListenerXTalkerX 19:36, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
Jim Bakker and the Televangelist horde come instantly to mind...those guys were mostly conservative. --Gulik 23:55, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
That is not really politically motivated corruption, though; that is more financially motivated corruption. Says the Bible: "For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision: Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre's sake." I made a very brief list here (in time trouble, so didn't do all the needed research). Someone with the expertise please expand the list. (perhaps define "corruption" on the article while you are at it.) Thank you for your time. [[User:K61824|]][[User_talk:K61824|]] 20:48, 25 June 2009 (UTC)

Headers to edit smaller chunks would be nice in this article... ħumanUser talk:Human 05:47, 17 July 2009 (UTC)
