Essay:I'd Hate To Be An Atheist
I have commonly said, that if God was proven not to exist, I would seriously consider suicide... I am sure that such rhetoric is common, but I am convinced that I actually mean it.
I do not believe that atheists actually realize what they are embracing... Even the most famed atheists of our time (Dawkins, Hitchens, Harris etc) have never given a good reason for being an atheist... All of their arguments solely rest on their dislike for theists...
But how does it feel to actually think that consciousness does not (or may not, if you like), exist? How does it feel to realize that your whole existence differs from that of a rock by how chemicals interacted (abiogenesis)? How would it feel to realize that you are simply lost in this big universe? No hope, no justice, no faith, no absolute morality. Just a brief time in a forgotten place and then it's all over. Essentially, I think it would be fair to say, that we are just animals whose instincts happened to develop better.

I saw a poster somewhere, it read: "There probably is no God. Now stop worrying and enjoy your life." I am sure that the writer did not intend to convey all the above mentioned when stating "enjoy" your life... Yup! That's all there is to it. "Enjoy" knowing that you are hopeless, meaningless, purposeless being lost in a VAST (and I do mean vast) universe... 0 purpose, 0 hope...
I do not ask you to attack my beliefs... I ask you to elaborate, how can you go through your lives and have this in mind? Thanks--Kingdamian1 (talk) 18:06, 26 May 2017 (UTC)
