2025 RationalWiki 'Oregon Plan' Fundraiser

There is no RationalWiki without you. We are a small non-profit with no staff—we are hundreds of volunteers who document pseudoscience and crankery around the world every day. We will never allow ads because we must remain independent. We cannot rely on big donors with corresponding big agendas. We are not the largest website around, but we believe we play an important role in defending truth and objectivity.

Fighting pseudoscience isn't free.

The leading cause of death on the planet Earth is abortion. To date in 2007, an estimated 34,937,500 abortions were performed; for comparison, 12,687,245 deaths were attributable to cardiovascular disease.[1] Excluding abortion, cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death.[2]

In fact, a person conceived on this planet has only a 75% chance of not being aborted.[3]

Furthermore, the number of abortions per day exceeds the number of marriages. So far in 2007, over 2,000,000 more aboritions were performed than marriages.[4]
