2025 RationalWiki 'Oregon Plan' Fundraiser

There is no RationalWiki without you. We are a small non-profit with no staff—we are hundreds of volunteers who document pseudoscience and crankery around the world every day. We will never allow ads because we must remain independent. We cannot rely on big donors with corresponding big agendas. We are not the largest website around, but we believe we play an important role in defending truth and objectivity.

Fighting pseudoscience isn't free.

Essay talk:It is Easier to Follow than to Lead

Interesting, but a bit simple. Humans by and large are a whossy bunch, who don't like accountability, don't really want to take teh time to learn and think, and most importantly, live within their comfort zone. Being told what to do is far easier than having to take ownership of decisions. but it's not just the rise of hate that does it, it's everything. Giving to charity becomes the "in" thing cause George Clooney tells you to. Going to church become teh "out thing" cause your BFF says it's stupid. The way this article puts it, "green people" are not followers, cause they are doing good. --Sun mowse.pngEn attendant Godot"«I don't think in any language. I think in images.
