I must say: I like your essay a lot better than any of the others, mine included.

One problem I do have: when commenting on the rights of enemy combatants, you say you want to "be practical, rather than overly idealistic". Several paragraphs later, you admit your gun control amendment isn't very practical. Isn't the point of this series of essays to be idealistic, though?
