Summary[edit]

Description

I've been on DeviantART for a long time. Recently (by which I mean over the course of the past year or so), I've been getting messages in private chat from users who are apparently interested in using me as a muse of some sort and willing to offer compensation. I was initially skeptical but pleasantly surprised by this (albeit incredulous in the sense of "why the hell did you pick me for this honor?"), since I'm not all that gifted at drawing or painting and my gallery is mostly filled up with photographs I've taken. When I got a second message from a separate user written nigh-identically to the first, I started suspecting bots. By the third or fourth time, I started suspecting some sort of scam or info-gathering attempt (the one time I bothered to reply to one of these — which was the very first time, before there was a pattern for me to detect — I never got a reply). I think this might be worth discussing on RationalWiki.
