Where does this pic come from? I find it weird that a professional-quality photo of a celeb is "public domain". Father Vivian O'Blivion talkModerator 13:37, 7 July 2014 (UTC)

Hm? This is from Katy Perry's Dark Horse video on Youtube. I'm pretty new to Creative Commons, so any ideas of how the picture can be labeled more accurately is highly appreciated.Wonderful Pizza (talk) 13:55, 7 July 2014 (UTC)
What you want to do is explain it's fair use rational. The two easiest to justify are parody (which this isn't) and criticism (which this also doesn't seem to be). Beyond that you'll have a hard time explaining to somebody why this could be used by us. Zero (talk - contributions) 13:58, 7 July 2014 (UTC)
Hmm. I did some researching and found out that it probably is copyrighted. So I should change the attribution right away. T_T
However, it's possible that this picture may be used here. Apparently, the laws regarding this are
  1. the purpose and character of the use, including whether such use is of a commercial nature or is for nonprofit educational purposes;
  2. the nature of the copyrighted work;
  3. the amount and substantiality of the portion used in relation to the copyrighted work as a whole; and
  4. the effect of the use upon the potential market for or value of the copyrighted work.
So technically, I should be able to use it because 1. It's mainly to show an (educational?) example of how the Illuminati is attributed to pop media. Also, RW is a non-profit organization and its content on it is mainly for educational purposes. 2. The quality is indeed inferior, considering how YT has, like, 720px for that video. 3. This is only a slide from the whole video, which is considered to be too small for any commercial use outside RW as it does not include any part of the music or video (except for this picture itself). 4. Like 3, this picture is unlikely to be ever used for commercial purposes, and cannot replace any original works by Katy Perry. I guess.
Is that legit enough? There's also this Non-free music video screenshot template that might be justifiable for the picture on RW that RW doesn't have. Wonderful Pizza (talk) 15:12, 7 July 2014 (UTC)
I'll be assuming that stance for the picture's status in the meantime. Let me know if you find any problems with it. Wonderful Pizza (talk) 16:03, 7 July 2014 (UTC)
