Ooh, lovely. Out of curiosity, what purposes do the different XML, offsite, and local backups serve? Star of David.png Radioactive afikomen Please ignore all my awful pre-2014 comments. 23:12, 4 November 2012 (UTC)

The xml dump is at RationalWiki:Content dumps and contains all pages of RW. Minus the files, servers and database structures. Its available for anyone that wants to grab RW content, but is most useful for importing to other MW servers or forks. The local backup is a 7 day rolling snap shot of the server as a whole. It is our primary backup and allows us complete recovery of everything including the OS in the event of a catastrophic failure. However it is stored onsite. So as a precaution (ala Sandy, fire, earth quake, act of god) we also backup the database and file system to another location thousands of miles away. Tmtoulouse (talk) 23:23, 4 November 2012 (UTC)
