Note: I use the term "Anglo-Libertarianism" to distinguish it from International Libertarianism (which is still socialist).

I consider myself a somewhat kind person, but seeing the stuff posted by Anglo-Libertarians on social media really drives me up the wall. And since I'm not very good at arguing, I tend to bite my tongue which just makes me even more frustrated.

I'm not sure if it's just a problem with me (I'm left on economic issues), but I'm just wondering if others have felt that way. And if they do, I'd like to know if there are any ways to keep myself from going insane. Ru1138 (talk) 20:16, 5 June 2016 (UTC)

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "Anglo-Libertarianism", but it sounds like what I call "economanic pseudo-libertarianism", my own neologism for the whole sacred property rights and taxation is theft malarkey. The workability of that sort of libertarianism is strongly contingent on the social and institutional constraints in which it is imagined to operate. It might be workable under a society full of small holders producing mostly fungible goods. It breaks down, for instance, in a legal and media environment where blaring messages tell you to buy Coca-Cola rather than some other highly similar beverage because Coke is the Real Thing, and not everybody can bottle a soft drink and call it Coca-Cola. It especially breaks down in a legal environment that tolerates the corporation, the stock markets, derivatives, and the baroque casino games of international finance. - Smerdis of Tlön, LOAD "*", 8, 1. 04:45, 6 June 2016 (UTC)
Basically yes. Anglo-Libertarianism is the corporate boardroom designed one, not the anti-authoritarian socialist one.Ru1138 (talk) 21:07, 6 June 2016 (UTC)
