Forum:Can we get improved link previews, like wikipedia?

I link RW to a lot of places, and the preview generally only shows the article name. Wikipedia links show the article summary and main image in previews. I've noticed it, so far, on Facebook and Discord.

I believe this is the current standard http://ogp.me/, I assume mediawiki has a plugin or setting for it.Ericblank (talk) 21:32, 24 May 2017 (UTC), by: Ericblank / talk / contribs

On talk pages, please sign your comments using four tildes (~~~~) or by clicking on the sign button: SigButt.png on the toolbar above the edit panel. (You can indent successive talk page comments using one more colon (:) for each line.) Thank you.
I'm not entirely sure what you mean but it might have something to do with Wikidata.Wikipedia Christopher (talk) 20:12, 24 May 2017 (UTC)
It's not wikidata, it's just a way of embedding metadata into the page, so it formats better on social media, for example having a permalink, embedded image, description (useful for visually impaired users) and other data. This is the mediawiki extension for it: https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:OpenGraphMeta --Ericblank (talk) 21:36, 24 May 2017 (UTC)
