Forum:Indexed DB of all four leaks
The leaks are good to download and all, but I have a great mediocre idea on how to make it better. If all of the four leaks could first be pared down to relatively plain text (maybe really basic HTML with h2-s for the authors and blockquoted text), then we could do a searchable, indexed and easily readable directory of all of the leaks. It would offer several benefits over the current method (they'd be online so we could ref them properly, they'd be viewable to all rather than making people download them, etc.) Currently, the dumps are over 300 MB total, but in plaintext, it shouldn't be more than a few dozen MB. Thoughts? Oh, and it doesn't have to be on the wiki, or even on the Rational Wiki domain. – Nick Heer 05:20, 10 February 2011 (UTC)
- We should have a wiki we can put leaks like this up on and maybe even more important ones, like private company documents or maybe even secret government correspondences if we know someone that can get them for us. We could call it LeaksWiki, it would be awesome. - π 05:24, 10 February 2011 (UTC)
- Funny. WikiLeaks doesn't want some crap from a weird extremist website. Would help here though. – Nick Heer 05:38, 10 February 2011 (UTC)
- There was a lot of discussion when this last happened and a general consensus that we would not host the actual full leaks. If anyone wants to revisit that consensus I can see what we can do. Tmtoulouse (talk) 14:38, 10 February 2011 (UTC)
