Fun:Dial Up
A horrible way to access teh internets by primitive means, Dial up is connecting to the internet via phone line dialing to an internet service provider (ISP).
The connectivity is agonizingly slow, leading to many murderous rampages through impatience of disconnects and slow page loading speeds.
Garry Trudeau even lampooned it in a Doonesbury cartoon, circa 2001, by having his Sunday strip barely half load by the last panel.
However, before broadband, a nice 56k modem and decent ISP was teh new whirled order!!!onewone@!@#!!31eclventy!
