Necker cube.svg Tired of laughing? RationalWiki has a slightly more serious article about Fair trade.

Fair-trade is a description applied to products, particularly coffee, that are enriched with delicious liberal deceits, specifically that of giving farmers a fair price for their produce. This is obviously a commie plot, as no-one in their right mind would believe that perhaps not oppressing the populace was a good idea. The deceits taste particularly delectable if one is a communist, allowing good conservatives to easily determine one's political orientation.

Conservatives, for their part, find that the taste of the sweat of oppressed labor adds a delectable tang to the taste of their coffee and chocolate. Or it could just be all that sweet sweet lead; countries without labor standards tend to be those without environmental standards.
