Qur'an 37:1[edit]

By the aligners aligning.

Qur'an 37:1 Notes[edit]

According to various sources, this verse is talking about angels aligned in ranks. How are people supposed to know that without consulting an outside source?

Qur'an 37:2[edit]

And the drivers driving.

Qur'an 37:2 Notes[edit]

Meanwhile, this verse talks about rebukers who drive clouds forth. Again, why would anybody need external sources to know anything about this supposedly "Clear Book"?

Qur'an 37:3[edit]

And the reciters of the Reminder.

Qur'an 37:3 Notes[edit]

Those who recite things that nobody has ever demonstrated to be true? No repetition of such baseless claims count as a "Reminder" until anyone has a reason to accept them.

Qur'an 37:4[edit]

Your God is indeed One.

Qur'an 37:4 Notes[edit]

Casually asserting that any form of polytheism is wrong, including the Trinity, which counts as a form of polytheism, though what evidence does any monotheistic religion have to assert that any forms of monotheism are less wrong?

Qur'an 37:5[edit]

Lord of the heavens and the earth, and everything between them; and Lord of the Easts.

Qur'an 37:5 Notes[edit]

Prove that you know anything about any of "the Easts" when you seemingly think that the sun literally rises from "the Easts" which you yourself supposedly created. For reference, the Arabic word for "east" can also be translated as "sunrise place" as if the sun actually rises from that place. The same goes for "west" and sunsets. This is also why Muhammad seemed to believe that the sun will literally rise from the west as a sign of the Day of Judgment. This so-called "Lord of the heavens and the earth" should know what kind of world he supposedly created.

Qur'an 37:6[edit]

We have adorned the lower heaven with the beauty of the planets.

Qur'an 37:6 Notes[edit]

This so-called god should also know that he supposedly made the planets incredibly far from a round earth and that they are far beyond any "lower heaven" as this book describes.

Qur'an 37:7[edit]

And guarded it against every defiant devil.

Qur'an 37:7 Notes[edit]

This so-called god claims to defend this "lower heaven" from these demons but not the humans who would literally burn in hell forever for simply being misguided?

Qur'an 37:8[edit]

They cannot eavesdrop on the Supernal Elite, for they get bombarded from every side.

Qur'an 37:8 Notes[edit]

This so-called god apparently fires these shooting stars at demons to keep them from spying.

Qur'an 37:9[edit]

Repelled—they will have a lingering torment.

Qur'an 37:9 Notes[edit]

It took this "Forgiving" and "Merciful" despot long enough to start talking about infinite torture.

Qur'an 37:10[edit]

Except for him who snatches a fragment—he gets pursued by a piercing projectile.

Qur'an 37:10 Notes[edit]

God's aim is so bad that some people actually successful "snatch" some information before God fires a shooting star point-blank.

Qur'an 37:11[edit]

Inquire of them, “Are they more difficult to create, or the others We created?” We created them from sticky clay.

Qur'an 37:11 Notes[edit]

This verse is talking about humans, but did the "prophet" Muhammad ever see or feel sticky clay? How exactly could he think that humans were made from that stuff?

Qur'an 37:12[edit]

But you wonder, and they ridicule.

Qur'an 37:12 Notes[edit]

Ridiculous ideas get ridiculed by those who can see past the nonsense.

Qur'an 37:13[edit]

And when reminded, they pay no attention.

Qur'an 37:13 Notes[edit]

Repeating a ridiculous claim doesn't make it any less ridiculous.

Qur'an 37:14[edit]

And when they see a sign, they ridicule.

Qur'an 37:14 Notes[edit]

They don't actually point to Islam as remotely truthful if they're anything like the "signs" in this book. Any signs in the Quran point to Allah being just as fictional as any other gods ever.

Qur'an 37:15[edit]

And they say, “This is nothing but plain magic.

Qur'an 37:15 Notes[edit]

Magic is a core of Islamic belief. Muhammad literally believed in magic.

Qur'an 37:16[edit]

When we have died and become dust and bones, shall we be resurrected?

Qur'an 37:16 Notes[edit]

This is a good question. Some guy claims that rotting corpses will be resurrected when, to date, nobody has verifiable evidence of a rotting corpse ever coming back from the dead.

Qur'an 37:17[edit]

And our ancestors of old?”

Qur'an 37:17 Notes[edit]

Would answers for such questions come with evidence?

Qur'an 37:18[edit]

Say, “Yes indeed, and you will be totally subdued.”

Qur'an 37:18 Notes[edit]

Prove it. The Quran tells disbelievers to bring evidence if they are indeed truthful, after all.

Qur'an 37:19[edit]

It will be a single nudge, and they will be staring.

Qur'an 37:19 Notes[edit]

Oh no! A single push will get us to look!

Qur'an 37:20[edit]

They will say, “Woe to us. This is the Day of Judgment.”

Qur'an 37:20 Notes[edit]

They will more likely say, "Woe to us. These ridiculous baseless claims were actually true while the other ridiculous baseless claims were actually false!"

Qur'an 37:21[edit]

“This is the Day of Separation which you used to deny.

Qur'an 37:21 Notes[edit]

Whenever Muhammad sees the thousands of other gods which anyone has ever believed to exist, he will be in awe. He used to deny those gods because some lone narcissist named Allah said so. This annotation has just as much evidence as anything in the Quran.

Qur'an 37:22[edit]

Gather those who did wrong, and their mates, and what they used to worship.

Qur'an 37:22 Notes[edit]

This book condones slavery, abuse, and violence quite regularly while refusing to even tolerate disbelief in Allah as the one true god. Allah doesn't know the first thing about right and wrong.

Qur'an 37:23[edit]

Besides God, and lead them to the way to Hell.

Qur'an 37:23 Notes[edit]

Allah, for whatever reason, chooses such horrendously unconvincing "signs" as the "evidence" for this religion to where most people see Islam as no more believable than any other pack of lies out there. Allah chooses to make himself seem no more real than any other gods. However, those who believe in Allah get heaven while those who believe in any of these other fictional gods get hell? To make things worse, Allah repeatedly claims to actively prevent disbelievers and wrongdoers from believing in him.

Qur'an 37:24[edit]

And stop them. They are to be questioned.”

Qur'an 37:24 Notes[edit]

Allah is supposedly all-knowing already and thus has no need to question anybody about anything.

Qur'an 37:25[edit]

What is the matter with you? Why do you not help one another?

Qur'an 37:25 Notes[edit]

Could it be that Allah terrifies literally everybody to the point where their sense of empathy disappears in the fear? Allah explicitly states that everybody would be so terrified in the Day of Judgment that nobody would be capable of even caring for anyone other than themselves.

Qur'an 37:26[edit]

In fact, on that Day, they will be submissive.

Qur'an 37:26 Notes[edit]

Because the supposedly loving and merciful despot would reduce everybody to fearful submission.

Qur'an 37:27[edit]

They will come to one another, questioning one another.

Qur'an 37:27 Notes[edit]

Of course, even if Allah had a chance of being real, many people would undoubtedly blame the one in charge of everything before blaming other comparatively powerless humans.

Qur'an 37:28[edit]

They will say, “You used to come at us from the right.”

Qur'an 37:28 Notes[edit]

I imagine more people would be utterly horrified that slavery, holy wars, and domestic abuse are all "right" in the first place while valuing the lives of disbelievers and queer folk is considered "wrong" by this immoral monster.

Qur'an 37:29[edit]

They will say, “You yourselves were not believers.

Qur'an 37:29 Notes[edit]

No matter what anyone says, Allah explicitly states on numerous occasions that he deliberately misled most of humanity and prevented them from accepting the truth. This is one of very few things which the Quran makes clear.

Qur'an 37:30[edit]

We had no authority over you. You yourselves were rebellious people.

Qur'an 37:30 Notes[edit]

Correction: We had no authority over you. Allah had full authority over you and predestined you to be rebellious people deserving infinite torture far worse than you could possibly imagine.

Qur'an 37:31[edit]

The Word of our Lord has been realized against us. We are tasting it.

Qur'an 37:31 Notes[edit]

Now would be a good time for this "Forgiving" and "Merciful" god to show some actual mercy and actually forgive people for the thoughtcrime which he himself forced upon them.

Qur'an 37:32[edit]

We seduced you. We were seducers.”

Qur'an 37:32 Notes[edit]

Allah claims to be the one who "seduced" disbelievers, though it's a lot more like forceful damnation.

Qur'an 37:33[edit]

On that Day, they will share in the punishment.

Qur'an 37:33 Notes[edit]

Allah refers to this horrifying torture as "punishment" as if anybody other than him deserves anything of the sort.

Qur'an 37:34[edit]

Thus We deal with the sinners.

Qur'an 37:34 Notes[edit]

Thus Allah deserves such punishment far more than any human victims.

Qur'an 37:35[edit]

When it was said to them, “There is no god except God,” they grew arrogant.

Qur'an 37:35 Notes[edit]

People reject this religion's nonsense for reasons beyond arrogance. If anything, Muhammad was arrogant for claiming that his god was the only one while rejecting all other gods. It could be that he sincerely believed in one god only, but the same can be said for anybody who sincerely believes in other gods or those who don't believe in any gods at all.

Qur'an 37:36[edit]

And said, “Are we to abandon our gods for a mad poet?”

Qur'an 37:36 Notes[edit]

Muhammad's madness was far clearer than any sign pointing to his specific god.

Qur'an 37:37[edit]

In fact, he came with the truth, and he confirmed the messengers.

Qur'an 37:37 Notes[edit]

He asserted utterly ridiculous nonsense and continually fell short of actually proving a word of it.

Qur'an 37:38[edit]

Most assuredly, you will taste the painful punishment.

Qur'an 37:38 Notes[edit]

Again, what a wonderfully merciful god!

Qur'an 37:39[edit]

And you will be repaid only for what you used to do.

Qur'an 37:39 Notes[edit]

Of course, "what you used to do" is simply sincere disbelief in claims that the omniscient omnipotent dictator controlling this world intentionally made as utterly ridiculous as possible so that the vast majority of humankind would have no choice but to disbelieve.

Qur'an 37:40[edit]

Except for God’s sincere servants.

Qur'an 37:40 Notes[edit]

This is because, despite all humans deserving hell on account of the flaws that Allah imbued in each and every human, Allah is willing to look the other way for those who dedicate their lives to pleasing his infinite ego. Notably, this raises issues with those who disbelieve but lead people to believing in Allah, with a prime example being Muhammad's uncle Abu Talib. According to Sunni traditions, Abu Talib directly supported Muhammad and helped Islam spread despite never being a Muslim himself, though this is a debated point. Allah rewards the man by only giving him the mildest torture, though it is still torture and it does still go on forever, all because Abu Talib wasn't among "God's sincere servants" when he died.

Qur'an 37:41[edit]

For them is a known provision.

Qur'an 37:41 Notes[edit]

It would have to be demonstrable in order to be "known" by anybody.

Qur'an 37:42[edit]

Fruits; and they will be honored.

Qur'an 37:42 Notes[edit]

Fruits and honor both exist in this world.

Qur'an 37:43[edit]

In the Gardens of Bliss.

Qur'an 37:43 Notes[edit]

Gardens and bliss also both exist in this world.

Qur'an 37:44[edit]

On furnishings, facing one another.

Qur'an 37:44 Notes[edit]

Furnishings also exist in this world.

Qur'an 37:45[edit]

They will be offered a cup of pure drink.

Qur'an 37:45 Notes[edit]

What kind of drink? Water? Wine? Juice? Allah could just clearly describe it if it's not already a drink that exists in this world. Various sources claim that this is a type of wine, though the book itself fails to make that clear.

Qur'an 37:46[edit]

White; a delight to those who drink.

Qur'an 37:46 Notes[edit]

So milk?

Qur'an 37:47[edit]

Never polluted, and never intoxicating.

Qur'an 37:47 Notes[edit]

Clean non-alcoholic wine exists in this world.

Qur'an 37:48[edit]

With them will be bashful women with lovely eyes.

Qur'an 37:48 Notes[edit]

Their eyes are lovely, but will the rest of their bodies be completely covered by a niqab?

Qur'an 37:49[edit]

As if they were closely guarded pearls.

Qur'an 37:49 Notes[edit]

Women are people, not fancy treasures like pearls. Allah would know that if he cared about women enough to not send almost all of them to Hell.

Qur'an 37:50[edit]

Then they will approach one another, questioning.

Qur'an 37:50 Notes[edit]

Yeah. When something feels way too good to be true, many people would seriously question if the thing is true or just another illusion by the trickster god of this religion.

Qur'an 37:51[edit]

One of them will say, “I used to have a friend.

Qur'an 37:51 Notes[edit]

Good for that person for having a friend.

Qur'an 37:52[edit]

Who used to say, “Are you of those who believe?

Qur'an 37:52 Notes[edit]

This seems like a valid question considering how difficult this nonsense is to believe, at least for those who were not primed to believe this kind of nonsense since childhood.

Qur'an 37:53[edit]

That after we die and become dust and bones, we will be called to account?”

Qur'an 37:53 Notes[edit]

Considering the utter lack of verifiable evidence behind any resurrection accounts, especially for those who have had time to "become dust and bones", people are rightfully skeptical.

Qur'an 37:54[edit]

He will say, “Will you have a look?”

Qur'an 37:54 Notes[edit]

Can we have a look at it while we're still alive and able to make meaningful decisions?

Qur'an 37:55[edit]

He will look, and will see him in the pit of Hell.

Qur'an 37:55 Notes[edit]

Allah really felt the need to remind the denizens of Heaven that the vast majority of humans who ever existed got thrown by Allah straight to Hell. The people in Heaven are supposed to enjoy an eternity like this.

Qur'an 37:56[edit]

He will say, “By God, you almost ruined me.

Qur'an 37:56 Notes[edit]

This is what he has to say?

Qur'an 37:57[edit]

Were it not for the grace of my Lord, I would have been among the arraigned.”

Qur'an 37:57 Notes[edit]

Sadly, that cosmic despot withheld his "grace" when it came to the vast majority of humans to ever live.

Qur'an 37:58[edit]

“We will not die.

Qur'an 37:58 Notes[edit]

Not even after googols of millennia, after every soul in Heaven succumbs to woeful boredom and the horrifying reality that most of their connections in this world have been suffering from unending agony this entire time? Heaven is still infinitely superior to Hell, but even then, really?

Qur'an 37:59[edit]

Except for our first death, and we will not be punished.”

Qur'an 37:59 Notes[edit]

This god could very easily punish these people after getting them to trust that he wouldn't punish them in Heaven. He has proven himself to be this horrifically dishonest before.

Qur'an 37:60[edit]

This is the supreme triumph.

Qur'an 37:60 Notes[edit]

What demented "supreme triumph" involves Heaven only including a small handful of any humans to ever exist while the rest are tortured forever?

Qur'an 37:61[edit]

For the like of this let the workers work.

Qur'an 37:61 Notes[edit]

Allah could start by clarifying which works specifically lead to this idyllic outcome. The Quran fails miserably at that while Muslims the world over disagree over which external resources are reliable and how to interpret anything.

Qur'an 37:62[edit]

Is this a better hospitality, or the Tree of Bitterness?

Qur'an 37:62 Notes[edit]

Several trees produce bitter, even toxic, fruits.

Qur'an 37:63[edit]

We made it an ordeal for the unjust.

Qur'an 37:63 Notes[edit]

Allah says this as the epitome of injustice.

Qur'an 37:64[edit]

It is a tree that grows from the bottom of Hell.

Qur'an 37:64 Notes[edit]

So it's a Manchineel tree? Those things actually kill people regularly.

Qur'an 37:65[edit]

Its fruits are like the devils’ heads.

Qur'an 37:65 Notes[edit]

In appearance? In sound? In smell? In taste? What are the specific similarities aside from neither the tree nor devils being proven to exist outside of this book?

Qur'an 37:66[edit]

They will eat from it, and fill their bellies with it.

Qur'an 37:66 Notes[edit]

This is supposed to be graphic and scare people into submission, but it's still underwhelming in a sense.

Qur'an 37:67[edit]

Then, on top of it, they will have a brew of boiling liquid.

Qur'an 37:67 Notes[edit]

Ingesting boiling liquids sounds more like it.

Qur'an 37:68[edit]

Then their return will be to the Blaze.

Qur'an 37:68 Notes[edit]

So wait, this isn't in Hell but something before they head down to Hell?

Qur'an 37:69[edit]

They had found their parents astray.

Qur'an 37:69 Notes[edit]

Because Allah led them astray.

Qur'an 37:70[edit]

And rushed along in their footsteps.

Qur'an 37:70 Notes[edit]

Unfortunately, many Muslims seriously question their faith but stay Muslims because their parents are also Muslims. What about them?

Qur'an 37:71[edit]

And most of the ancients before them went astray.

Qur'an 37:71 Notes[edit]

Allah could easily have chosen to not actively lead any of them astray.

Qur'an 37:72[edit]

Even though We sent messengers to warn them.

Qur'an 37:72 Notes[edit]

Allah deliberately chose to make these messengers look just as unreliable as any other cult leaders or insane ramblers to the vast majority of humans to ever exist. Allah set the messengers up to fail for the vast majority of their audiences. Allah provided awful signs and gave humanity the cognitive ability to see such awful signs for what they really are.

Qur'an 37:73[edit]

So observe the end of those who were warned.

Qur'an 37:73 Notes[edit]

Many of "those who were warned" were alive and well when Muhammad was giving Allah credit for these verses, though this is talking about those who have passed long ago. This verse tells people to "observe the end of those who were warned" as if people at any point in time can observe anything other than long-dead corpses. What are people supposed to observe? A lack of signs that Allah brutally punished after setting them up to collectively fail? A bunch of dead corpses which Allah has never been observed reanimating?

Qur'an 37:74[edit]

Except for the sincere servants of God.

Qur'an 37:74 Notes[edit]

Which observations, whether during the time of the prophet Muhammad or in the present day, could possibly point to anything in this book being true?

Qur'an 37:75[edit]

And Noah called out to Us, and We are the Best of responders.

Qur'an 37:75 Notes[edit]

Would "the Best of responders" actively lead the vast majority of humanity away from the truth and refuse to respond to countless believers begging on their knees to know that you're really there, Allah? Considering that "the Best of responders" would drown almost every human and animal alive at the time of this totally-real-and-historical fairytale, maybe he would.

Qur'an 37:76[edit]

And We saved him and his family from the great calamity.

Qur'an 37:76 Notes[edit]

Allah couldn't even be bothered to mention the victims of his horrific genocide.

Qur'an 37:77[edit]

And We made his descendants the survivors.

Qur'an 37:77 Notes[edit]

Does any observable evidence point to any bottleneck event in humanity's history where only a small family survived a flood lacking any evidence whatsoever? This book tells people to observe the world around them and see the signs, after all.

Qur'an 37:78[edit]

And We left mention of him among those who succeeded.

Qur'an 37:78 Notes[edit]

Would Allah care to clarify that to the many, many historians, archeologists, geologists, biologists, and anthropologists who have no good reason to believe any of that?

Qur'an 37:79[edit]

Peace be upon Noah among all people.

Qur'an 37:79 Notes[edit]

Allah says this as if no other humans mattered.

Qur'an 37:80[edit]

We thus reward the righteous.

Qur'an 37:80 Notes[edit]

By burdening the one human family with the responsibility of saving all animal life on this planet? Also, depending on how many wives each of Noah's sons had, humanity would need to be insanely incestuous to continue as it does now, to say nothing of the other animals. Thankfully, geneticists fail to see any evidence of such incest on any species-wide scale.

Qur'an 37:81[edit]

He was one of Our believing servants.

Qur'an 37:81 Notes[edit]

And got to observe as everybody not in his family drowned to death.

Qur'an 37:82[edit]

Then We drowned the others.

Qur'an 37:82 Notes[edit]

What a gracious god?

Qur'an 37:83[edit]

Of his kind was Abraham.

Qur'an 37:83 Notes[edit]

Another figure with a lack of historical evidence enters this story.

Qur'an 37:84[edit]

When he came to his Lord with a sound heart.

Qur'an 37:84 Notes[edit]

What does heart health have to do with this story?

Qur'an 37:85[edit]

He said to his father and his people, “What are you worshiping?

Qur'an 37:85 Notes[edit]

Probably something just as demonstrably real as Allah.

Qur'an 37:86[edit]

Is it falsified gods, instead of God, that you want?

Qur'an 37:86 Notes[edit]

No, of course they don't want to worship falsified gods. They believe that their gods are just as real as Abraham thinks his one true god to be. Without any evidence that points to Allah specifically and doesn't also point to any other gods, Abraham is equally wrong as the people whom he criticizes.

Qur'an 37:87[edit]

So what is your opinion about the Lord of the Worlds?”

Qur'an 37:87 Notes[edit]

It's that he doesn't exist but that he would be a pathetic, insecure narcissist willing to cause infinite suffering because of his infinite ego. As this book describes him, he is far from deserving any worship.

Qur'an 37:88[edit]

Then he took a glance at the stars.

Qur'an 37:88 Notes[edit]

At the very least, stars demonstrably and observably exist.

Qur'an 37:89[edit]

And said, “I am sick.”

Qur'an 37:89 Notes[edit]

And countless people are sick of the harm continually caused by this cult.

Qur'an 37:90[edit]

But they turned their backs on him, and went away.

Qur'an 37:90 Notes[edit]

Which is what many people would do when a lone weirdo tells them that their beliefs are all wrong without showing a lick of evidence.

Qur'an 37:91[edit]

Then he turned to their gods, and said, “will you not eat?

Qur'an 37:91 Notes[edit]

Allah doesn't eat. This book never describes Allah as eating or shows conclusive evidence that he exists. Also, polytheists don't generally worship the idols themselves. Some do, but most polytheists see these idols as a means of worship instead of the actual objects of worship.

Qur'an 37:92[edit]

What is it with you, that you do not speak?”

Qur'an 37:92 Notes[edit]

Allah has never spoken to anybody while proving that it was really him. Many people claim to hear directly from Allah, but Muhammad was surprisingly not one of them. He claimed that an angel spoke to him on Allah's behalf while not actually being Allah. Allah supposedly did talk to previous prophets without the need of any angels as middlemen, but he made sure not to leave any evidence behind for skeptics to observe as Allah supposedly wants people to observe.

Qur'an 37:93[edit]

Then he turned on them, striking with his right hand.

Qur'an 37:93 Notes[edit]

Allah officially condones property destruction as a method of getting people to change their beliefs.

Qur'an 37:94[edit]

And they came running towards him.

Qur'an 37:94 Notes[edit]

Who? The destroyed idols? The people who worship them? The context implies the latter, but in that case, the reader would be putting more work into making this book make sense than the supposed authors.

Qur'an 37:95[edit]

He said, “Do you worship what you carve?

Qur'an 37:95 Notes[edit]

At the very least, carved idols have been demonstrated to exist. This alone is more than can be said of Allah.

Qur'an 37:96[edit]

When God created you, and what you manufacture?”

Qur'an 37:96 Notes[edit]

Abraham keeps asserting that a specific skydaddy created them while failing to provide evidence.

Qur'an 37:97[edit]

They said, “Build a pyre for him, and throw him into the furnace.”

Qur'an 37:97 Notes[edit]

So wait, burning people for religious disbelief or disagreements is a bad thing? Is it just a bad thing when those heathens do it to believers in Allah or is it also bad when Muslims kill infidels?

Qur'an 37:98[edit]

They wished him ill, but We made them the losers.

Qur'an 37:98 Notes[edit]

While burning Abraham would be extreme, he was the one who chose to destroy idols and, in their eyes, transgressed against the real gods to propose a fake god above them.

Qur'an 37:99[edit]

He said, “I am going towards my Lord, and He will guide me.”

Qur'an 37:99 Notes[edit]

Could this god guide people to not attack each other over religious disagreements. On that note, can this god be clear enough to not let any religious disagreements arise in the first place?

Qur'an 37:100[edit]

“My Lord, give me one of the righteous.”

Qur'an 37:100 Notes[edit]

He could start by making Abraham righteous enough to not attack people for growing up in the wrong zeitgeist and holding the wrong religious beliefs.

Qur'an 37:101[edit]

So We gave him good news of a clement boy.

Qur'an 37:101 Notes[edit]

Uh huh...

Qur'an 37:102[edit]

Then, when he was old enough to accompany him, he said, “O My son, I see in a dream that I am sacrificing you; see what you think.” He said, “O my Father, do as you are commanded; you will find me, God willing, one of the steadfast.”

Qur'an 37:102 Notes[edit]

Ah yes, the story where Abraham gets a dream in which he kills his own son and just assumes that the one true god told him to do it? Really? What does he do to verify that this is indeed the one true god and not just a trickster demon or his own twisted mind?

Qur'an 37:103[edit]

Then, when they had submitted, and he put his forehead down.

Qur'an 37:103 Notes[edit]

This is supposed to be a noble story about a father and son who love Allah more than they love each other's lives, but considering that this started with a dream, it's just messed up!

Qur'an 37:104[edit]

We called out to him, “O Abraham!

Qur'an 37:104 Notes[edit]

Again, how would Abraham know that this was actually Allah? Then again, he would probably pounce at any chance to stop this sacrifice.

Qur'an 37:105[edit]

You have fulfilled the vision.” Thus We reward the doers of good.

Qur'an 37:105 Notes[edit]

They were both presumably rewarded with trauma that stayed with them for the rest of their lives.

Qur'an 37:106[edit]

This was certainly an evident test.

Qur'an 37:106 Notes[edit]

What exactly would this test? It's supposed to test both Abraham's faith and that of his as-of-yet unnamed son. However, Abraham only had a dream and just assumed that Allah was the one who sent the dream down. His son only had his disturbed father telling him about this dream. This is an important question because Allah, in his infinite wisdom, included this story in the supposedly perfect message to all of humanity. Is the moral of this story supposed to be that people shouldn't get too attached to human lives, not even of their own family or even their own selves, and be willing to end these lives whenever they believe that Allah tells them to do so? This is an incredibly dangerous message that has led to countless deaths and continues to lead to deaths to this day. So many people following several religions have caused such atrocities in the name of this supposedly "Merciful" and "Forgiving" deity. For as bad as this incoherent nonsense can get, the less incoherent parts of this book are dangerous for this reason.

Qur'an 37:107[edit]

And We redeemed him with a great sacrifice.

Qur'an 37:107 Notes[edit]

Allah needed another verse to justify this "great sacrifice" which people use to justify so many other atrocities.

Qur'an 37:108[edit]

And We left with him for later generations.

Qur'an 37:108 Notes[edit]

Does this include evidence that he even existed?

Qur'an 37:109[edit]

Peace be upon Abraham.

Qur'an 37:109 Notes[edit]

Allah would have no idea what "peace" even is if it stared him in the nonexistent face.

Qur'an 37:110[edit]

Thus We reward the doers of good.

Qur'an 37:110 Notes[edit]

Allah would have no idea what "good" even is if it stared him in the nonexistent face.

Qur'an 37:111[edit]

He was one of Our believing servants.

Qur'an 37:111 Notes[edit]

He valued his son's life so little that he was willing to end it because he somehow sincerely believed that they're both slaves to Allah. This book is an utterly disgusting insult to humanity!

Qur'an 37:112[edit]

And We gave him good news of Isaac, a prophet, one of the righteous.

Qur'an 37:112 Notes[edit]

Will this story tell us what made Isaac so righteous and how Muslims today can apply these moral teachings?

Qur'an 37:113[edit]

And We blessed him, and Isaac. But among their descendants are some who are righteous, and some who are clearly unjust to themselves.

Qur'an 37:113 Notes[edit]

Allah would have no idea what righteousness even is if it stared him in the nonexistent face.

Qur'an 37:114[edit]

And We blessed Moses and Aaron.

Qur'an 37:114 Notes[edit]

Moses and Aaron, two more figures who also lack historical evidence?

Qur'an 37:115[edit]

And We delivered them and their people from the terrible disaster.

Qur'an 37:115 Notes[edit]

Allah caused "the terrible disaster" in the first place and chose to only spare a handful of people while countless others suffered. These people suffered because Allah predestined them to suffer.

Qur'an 37:116[edit]

And We supported them, and so they were the victors.

Qur'an 37:116 Notes[edit]

At the expense of everybody else?

Qur'an 37:117[edit]

And We gave them the Clarifying Scripture.

Qur'an 37:117 Notes[edit]

Is "the Clarifying Scripture" in this room with us right now, or universe for that matter?

Qur'an 37:118[edit]

And We guided them upon the straight path.

Qur'an 37:118 Notes[edit]

Again, could Allah not let "the Clarifying Scripture" be remotely clear when talking about this "straight path" at all.

Qur'an 37:119[edit]

And We left with them for later generations.

Qur'an 37:119 Notes[edit]

Most of these "later generations" would have no solid evidence pointing to either figure existing.

Qur'an 37:120[edit]

Peace be upon Moses and Aaron.

Qur'an 37:120 Notes[edit]

Again, what does Allah know about peace?

Qur'an 37:121[edit]

Thus We reward the righteous.

Qur'an 37:121 Notes[edit]

Again, what does Allah know about righteousness?

Qur'an 37:122[edit]

They were of Our believing servants.

Qur'an 37:122 Notes[edit]

Because Allah specifically made them to believe instead of predestining them to infinite torture.

Qur'an 37:123[edit]

Also Elijah was one of the messengers.

Qur'an 37:123 Notes[edit]

Allah adds another figure without real historical evidence to the list.

Qur'an 37:124[edit]

He said to his people, “Do you not fear?

Qur'an 37:124 Notes[edit]

No god who demands fear from his slaves deserves any worship.

Qur'an 37:125[edit]

Do you call on Baal, and forsake the Best of creators?

Qur'an 37:125 Notes[edit]

Allah and Baal are equally unproven.

Qur'an 37:126[edit]

God is your Lord, and the Lord of your ancestors.”

Qur'an 37:126 Notes[edit]

Someone could say the exact same thing about Baal in the exact same way that Elijah says whatever about God. What evidence points to Allah being real and not Baal?

Qur'an 37:127[edit]

But they called him a liar, and thus they will be brought forward.

Qur'an 37:127 Notes[edit]

People tend to do that when someone makes outrageous and offensive claims without providing a lick of evidence.

Qur'an 37:128[edit]

Except for God’s sincere servants.

Qur'an 37:128 Notes[edit]

Allah keeps bragging about the slaves whom he predestined to worship him.

Qur'an 37:129[edit]

And We left with him for later generations.

Qur'an 37:129 Notes[edit]

Allah only left myths that have been passed down and written with no real evidence beyond that.

Qur'an 37:130[edit]

Peace be upon the House of Elijah.

Qur'an 37:130 Notes[edit]

Why exactly did Allah make this book so repetitive?

Qur'an 37:131[edit]

Thus We reward the virtuous.

Qur'an 37:131 Notes[edit]

Which virtues are even on display to be rewarded? Elijah made some dubious claims, got called a liar by skeptics, and reached the good ending of his story.

Qur'an 37:132[edit]

He was one of Our believing servants.

Qur'an 37:132 Notes[edit]

Allah has no reason to pad this chapter. The shortest of his chapter has only 3 verses. Why does this chapter have 182 verses?

Qur'an 37:133[edit]

And Lot was one of the messengers.

Qur'an 37:133 Notes[edit]

Homophobia inbound!

Qur'an 37:134[edit]

We saved him and his family, all of them.

Qur'an 37:134 Notes[edit]

From what? Allah saved Lot's entire family from what? Who caused the disaster from which the family would need saving?

Qur'an 37:135[edit]

Except for an old woman who lagged behind.

Qur'an 37:135 Notes[edit]

Was lagging behind the crime that led to her severe punishment? She was "an old woman" as this verse says. Is old age a crime now? Is lagging behind a crime now? What is the moral of this story? At the very least, this chapter went this far without the homophobia typically associated with this story.

Qur'an 37:136[edit]

Then We annihilated the others.

Qur'an 37:136 Notes[edit]

How "Forgiving" and "Merciful" of Allah!

Qur'an 37:137[edit]

You pass by them in the morning.

Qur'an 37:137 Notes[edit]

Who passes by them? Where and when did this totally-real-not-just-made-up story happen?

Qur'an 37:138[edit]

And at night. Do you not understand?

Qur'an 37:138 Notes[edit]

Allah takes credit for blinding most people to keep them from understanding. That, or this story is so lacking in details with the few details in it painting him as a self-absorbed sadist.

Qur'an 37:139[edit]

And Jonah was one of the messengers.

Qur'an 37:139 Notes[edit]

The guy who survived inside a big fish?

Qur'an 37:140[edit]

When he fled to the laden boat.

Qur'an 37:140 Notes[edit]

Where is the context to make this verse make sense?

Qur'an 37:141[edit]

He gambled and lost.

Qur'an 37:141 Notes[edit]

This question of context frankly applies to most of the book, a sign that this book is poorly written.

Qur'an 37:142[edit]

Then the fish swallowed him, and he was to blame.

Qur'an 37:142 Notes[edit]

Somehow, a human could survive being swallowed whole by a big fish, though some translations and commentaries refer to this fish as a whale. Either way, does any such sea beast exist today?

Qur'an 37:143[edit]

Had he not been one of those who praised.

Qur'an 37:143 Notes[edit]

Why is this verse by itself and not joined with the next verse? This isn't the first time this chapter has this particular issue, but it just comes off as choppy.

Qur'an 37:144[edit]

He would have stayed in its belly until the Day they are raised.

Qur'an 37:144 Notes[edit]

This might be a gross question, but from which end did Jonah leave the big fish.

Qur'an 37:145[edit]

Then We threw him into the wilderness, and he was sick.

Qur'an 37:145 Notes[edit]

Why does this book consistently refuse to give crucial context. Why do these stories fail to make sense without external sources? Why do so many of these stories fail to make sense with these external sources?

Qur'an 37:146[edit]

And We made a gourd tree grow over him.

Qur'an 37:146 Notes[edit]

How quickly did this gourd tree grow?

Qur'an 37:147[edit]

Then We sent him to a hundred thousand, or more.

Qur'an 37:147 Notes[edit]

A hundred thousand gourds? A hundred thousand gourd trees? This is supposed to say that a hundred thousand people somehow made their way in this story, but how is that remotely clear?

Qur'an 37:148[edit]

And they believed, so We gave them enjoyment for a while.

Qur'an 37:148 Notes[edit]

Is the only moral of this story going to be that believers are good?

Qur'an 37:149[edit]

Ask them, “Are the daughters for your Lord, while for them the sons?”

Qur'an 37:149 Notes[edit]

What sexist nonsense is this unclear verse trying to communicate?

Qur'an 37:150[edit]

Or did We create the angels females, as they witnessed?”

Qur'an 37:150 Notes[edit]

Why are angels even gendered in the first place?

Qur'an 37:151[edit]

No indeed! It is one of their lies when they say.

Qur'an 37:151 Notes[edit]

This is rich coming from a book filled to the brim with lies.

Qur'an 37:152[edit]

“God has begotten.” They are indeed lying.

Qur'an 37:152 Notes[edit]

"God chose Muhammad as his favorite human and the final messenger." They are indeed lying in a similarly ridiculous way.

Qur'an 37:153[edit]

So He preferred girls over boys?

Qur'an 37:153 Notes[edit]

Allah has no problem preferring boys over girls because he is a cosmic sexist.

Qur'an 37:154[edit]

What is the matter with you? How do you judge?

Qur'an 37:154 Notes[edit]

Allah gave humans the mental faculties to judge things as good or bad.

Qur'an 37:155[edit]

Will you not reflect?

Qur'an 37:155 Notes[edit]

Countless people reject this religion because they reflect instead of blindly accepting ludicrous baseless claims.

Qur'an 37:156[edit]

Or do you have some clear proof?

Qur'an 37:156 Notes[edit]

This is rich given an utter lack of "clear proof" in the Quran.

Qur'an 37:157[edit]

Then bring your book, if you are telling the truth.

Qur'an 37:157 Notes[edit]

Does any book count? Several people have written books explaining why the Quran is flawed and unconvincing.

Qur'an 37:158[edit]

And they invented a relationship between Him and the jinn. But the jinn know that they will be arraigned.

Qur'an 37:158 Notes[edit]

As if Allah or jinn have ever been proven to exist.

Qur'an 37:159[edit]

God be glorified, far above what they allege.

Qur'an 37:159 Notes[edit]

People can glorify a fictional figure and sincerely believe that said fictional figure is entirely real.

Qur'an 37:160[edit]

Except for God’s sincere servants.

Qur'an 37:160 Notes[edit]

Why would an omnipotent omniscient god even care about human servants?

Qur'an 37:161[edit]

Surely, you and what you serve.

Qur'an 37:161 Notes[edit]

Are no less real than Allah has proven himself to be.

Qur'an 37:162[edit]

Cannot seduce away from Him.

Qur'an 37:162 Notes[edit]

Many Muslims go on to leave Islam and convert to other religions.

Qur'an 37:163[edit]

Except for he who will be roasting in Hell.

Qur'an 37:163 Notes[edit]

Ah yes, this cruel threat again...

Qur'an 37:164[edit]

“There is not one of us but has an assigned position.

Qur'an 37:164 Notes[edit]

Allah is cruel for assigning anybody to the worst kind of position possible.

Qur'an 37:165[edit]

And we are the arrangers.

Qur'an 37:165 Notes[edit]

This is specifically talking about angels arranging themselves in formation to worship Allah as if that's something special.

Qur'an 37:166[edit]

And we are the glorifiers.”

Qur'an 37:166 Notes[edit]

Again, glorifying a supernatural being without explicit evidence of its existence is nothing special.

Qur'an 37:167[edit]

Even though they used to say.

Qur'an 37:167 Notes[edit]

Why are so many of these verses arbitrarily cut up?

Qur'an 37:168[edit]

“Had we received advice from the ancients.

Qur'an 37:168 Notes[edit]

This verse talks as if this was the only message that people consistently preached throughout history.

Qur'an 37:169[edit]

We would have been God's faithful servants.”

Qur'an 37:169 Notes[edit]

Or you would have received different advice from different ancients and have completely different religious beliefs.

Qur'an 37:170[edit]

But they rejected it, so they will find out.

Qur'an 37:170 Notes[edit]

Stop being so vindictive, Allah. You just look petty and insecure.

Qur'an 37:171[edit]

Our Word has already gone out to our servant messengers.

Qur'an 37:171 Notes[edit]

Yeah, but none of them were convincing enough to prove that they were any more correct than any other.

Qur'an 37:172[edit]

It is they who will be supported.

Qur'an 37:172 Notes[edit]

More empty promises...

Qur'an 37:173[edit]

And Our troops will be the victors.

Qur'an 37:173 Notes[edit]

The empty promises keep going.

Qur'an 37:174[edit]

So disregard them for a while.

Qur'an 37:174 Notes[edit]

I can disregard them forever.

Qur'an 37:175[edit]

And watch them—they will soon see.

Qur'an 37:175 Notes[edit]

Since when could "soon" mean over 1400 years later?

Qur'an 37:176[edit]

Are they seeking to hasten Our punishment?

Qur'an 37:176 Notes[edit]

People are just seeking evidence that Allah or his punishment could even possibly exist.

Qur'an 37:177[edit]

When it descends into their yard, miserable will be the morning of those forewarned.

Qur'an 37:177 Notes[edit]

This supposed misery would only result from Allah deliberately setting most people up to fail when faced with intentionally awful signs and messengers.

Qur'an 37:178[edit]

So avoid them for a while.

Qur'an 37:178 Notes[edit]

Better yet, avoid them forever.

Qur'an 37:179[edit]

And watch—they will soon see.

Qur'an 37:179 Notes[edit]

Anybody can make such a vacuous promise. "They don't believe me now, but they'll see! Soon, they'll all see!"

Qur'an 37:180[edit]

Exalted be your Lord, the Lord of Glory, beyond their allegations.

Qur'an 37:180 Notes[edit]

Exaltation is far from what this horrific despot could ever deserve.

Qur'an 37:181[edit]

And peace be upon the messengers.

Qur'an 37:181 Notes[edit]

This religion does so much to strip the word "peace" of its meaning.

Qur'an 37:182[edit]

And praise be to God, the Lord of the Worlds.

Qur'an 37:182 Notes[edit]

This god has never and will never deserve praise.
