Adoption[edit]

Would the childfree movement include people who advocate adoption instead of childbirth? Fallacy (talk) 15:39, 1 November 2011 (UTC)

Probably not, since the arguments listed here are that *any* child seems to be a crush on our personal liberties, freedoms and out right souls. --Pink mowse.pngGodotGet over it!. 17:01, 1 November 2011 (UTC)
I'm not convinced it's an accurate representation of the views of the people in the movement, but all I really know is what I read here, so eh. Fallacy (talk) 21:54, 1 November 2011 (UTC)
If you mean adopt for themselves, then no. Childfree people don't want children. They don't want to be parents to anyone. They are mostly supporting of the idea of adoption in general in favor of adoptiong. Hell, a good percentage of the Voluntary Human Extinction Movement, if you can believe it, are adoptive parents. Antinatalism[edit]

I'm curious about the subject of antinatalism. The subject is mentioned briefly and I was tempted to add a section to the page on the to the childfree movement. Technically the childfree movement is antinatalist but to extent they don't want children. Antinatalists differ in that they deliberately refuse to have children because they believe it would result in the child suffering. It has some merit but has unfortunately resulted in a mess of nonsense. The most insane topping the list would be Efilism. What are all your thoughts on this? Is it a subject worthy of dissection on RationalWiki? Old_Schooler (talk) 21:54, 11 November 2013 (UTC)

I think antinatalism could be on a separate page since they're two different things. But they could be connected also, since I assume a lot of antinatalist would also be childfree (But the CF aren't all antinatalist). I think both antinatalism and pronatalism are interesting topics and are worthy of dissection if they're not on here already.

a lot of stuff is said here[edit]

Just sayin'.Civic CatTalk to Civic Cat 23:17, 4 December 2013 (UTC)

Good point which has been taken into consideration. I've cut down on the article some and I'll see if I can do more in the future when I get the time. Old Schooler (talk) 05:43, 21 September 2015 (UTC)
