Objection to some items in section "Downsides?"[edit]

I feel that there is some bad conflation in the third paragraph of the "Downsides?" section. Referring to "herbal and homeopathic nostrums" suggested to me that both were equally useless. Herbalism at least has active ingredients in the prescribed substance, unlike homeopathy. Pharmacognosy is a respected branch of medicine. My next part is somewhat picky. I suspect most conditions where one would be given psychotropics are not diseases as such. I would also clarify the paragraph because I think one does have quite a strong case against taking psychotropics. Imarcuson (talk) 01:12, 9 April 2010 (UTC)

I think I would have to agree that herbalism isn't necessarily woo, especially compared to homeopathy. Herbology is the original spawn of modern pharmacology and continues to have its scientific uses. Lord Goonie Hooray! I'm helping! 04:38, 9 April 2010 (UTC)

health, freedom[edit]

It is unfortunate that most of the so called 'Health Freedom' sites on the internet have little or nothing to do with health, and do not care a bit for freedom, except as it meets their agenda. I recently did a quick review of so called 'health freedom' sites, as a follow-up of a review done over a year ago. http://personalhealthfreedom.blogspot.com/2012/02/what-is-health-freedom.html

My blog: PersonalHealthFreedom.blogspot.com is about health, and about freedom. At present, I am pretty much alone, although I have a few fans. Please consider that there can be something real called Health Freedom, that is actually about health - not about people who want to sell alternative medicines, or their own personal vision of medicine.

To understand Health Freedom, it is necessary to start with health: Healthiness is not illness. http://personalhealthfreedom.blogspot.com/2011/10/hierarchy-of-health-primary-and.html

Healthicine, the study of healthiness, is a superset of medicine (which includes alternative medicine, sometimes called alternative health): http://personalhealthfreedom.blogspot.com/2012/03/picture-of-health.html

and next to take a true position on freedom: Everyone has a right to life, liberty and the pursuit of healthiness. http://personalhealthfreedom.blogspot.com/p/subject-index.html

Like the RationalWiki, I too can be serious and sometimes fun in my analysis: Is listening to the Blues healthy? http://personalhealthfreedom.blogspot.com/2011/11/is-listening-to-blues-healthy.html
