2025 RationalWiki 'Oregon Plan' Fundraiser

There is no RationalWiki without you. We are a small non-profit with no staff—we are hundreds of volunteers who document pseudoscience and crankery around the world every day. We will never allow ads because we must remain independent. We cannot rely on big donors with corresponding big agendas. We are not the largest website around, but we believe we play an important role in defending truth and objectivity.

Fighting pseudoscience isn't free.

Talk:Midrash

I think a page on Midrashim is totally appropriate for RW. Even by the standards of religion, midrashim stretch the bounds of credulity. I mean, plenty of Orthodox Jews still believe that rabbis in the 200s CE knew what "really" happened in Biblical times when the Bible doesn't actually say!

Major fix[edit]

Fixed some major factual errors in the text of this page and some dumb jokes. The Midrashim are not stories, they are biblical analyses and interpretations of scripture that sometimes add to the narrative. They're exegesis; just call it that. No idea what the Three Oaths have to do with porn, either. Monochroma (talk) 05:23, 5 September 2022 (UTC)
