2025 RationalWiki 'Oregon Plan' Fundraiser

There is no RationalWiki without you. We are a small non-profit with no staff—we are hundreds of volunteers who document pseudoscience and crankery around the world every day. We will never allow ads because we must remain independent. We cannot rely on big donors with corresponding big agendas. We are not the largest website around, but we believe we play an important role in defending truth and objectivity.

Fighting pseudoscience isn't free.
We are 100% user-supported! Help and donate $5, $10, $20 or whatever you can today with PayPal Logo.png!

Date of publication[edit]

Wikipedia says 1890[1]. However Australian Dictionary of National Biography says 1896[2], as does Encountering New Religious Movements: A Holistic Evangelical Approach edited by Irving Hexham, Stephen Rost, John Morehead, Kregel Academic p252[3]; and Library of Congress lists it under the alternative name: "Redbeard, Ragnar, psued. [from old catalog] Survival of the fittest, 1896 HM136 .R3 1896" - Annquin (talk) 15:00, 25 February 2016 (UTC)

Additionally, as the article makes clear, the most plausible authorship theory requires a date of 1895 or later. Annquin (talk) 15:08, 25 February 2016 (UTC)
