Talk:Sisyphus
I'm used to wikipedia where claims are usually accompanied by cites. But it may be different here. This place is rational after all. ;-) I respectfully suggest that editors back up their claims if they're going to make them. --Psycheout 10:30, 14 July 2007 (CDT)

Well done. I'm not really sure where one uses references (ref tags) and where one uses external links. I guess it's a matter of style. The last part about the Neo-con foreign policy sounds like editorializing without a cite, but I'll let that go. ;-) --Psycheout 10:46, 14 July 2007 (CDT)

i gotta say....[edit]
I had never heard of the Blogs 4 Brownback, or of Sisyphus, before I read about it here on RW. Recently, I decided to go and read EXTENSIVELY through the pages and pages of rants on the B4B website, focusing specifically on the "science" section.
And, well, I gotta say...this guy has GOT to be insane...He thinks the world is flat, Darwinism leads to communism, there is no outer space (and thus NASA is a giant hoax/conspiracy plotting to steal tax dollars), that electrons are angels and protons are demons, and that anyone who dissagrees with him at ALL is an evil darwinist islamo-communist-fascist moonbat.
I can definitely see why people initially thought he was joking. The guy must have been bombarded with religious propaganda at a VERY young age, and I think it's safe to say that his IQ is not terribly high.
It really saddens and angers me that there is someone who is this incredibly hateful of anyone so different, and someone who clings to ridiculously outdated ideas. Mostly it angers me how swiftly he brushes off any issue that he doesn't agree with by calling it "liberal" or a "moonbat scheme". I would not be surprised if he was diagnosed with paranoia (I'm not kidding) with all of the NASA and evolution conspiracies he's always going on about.
Well, thats my thoughts on this person. I know talk pages usually have something to do with the article itself, but I couldn't think of anywhere else to post these thoughts; I think this will be appropriote, though, because it IS RW's goal to be more like the wikis of the pre-wikipedia era, isn't it? If anyone wants to talk to me about this or anything else, go right ahead, I love a good conversation; its one of the main reasons I spend my time on RationalWiki, because of the great conversations to be had =) -- ♠ ŖєuĻєəux ♠say wнäτ? 00:58, 6 August 2007 (CDT)
- You are quite perceptive. Sisyphus is entirely serious. He is not a stupid person, however. Your IQ assessment is completely wrong. I have known him for some time. I'm glad you have spent some time pouring through Sisyphus' science posts. They are inspired works. I wish my political posts got half the attention his science posts do! --Psycheout 01:56, 12 August 2007 (CDT)
Who Sisyphus Actually Is[edit]
Although it's extremely obvious that Sisyphus is a parody, it's interesting to note who his alter ego is.
Read the comments on this link (http://patriotboy.blogspot.com/2007/06/brownbacks-fight.html). Look for a commenter named, "Scruffy McSnufflePuss". Now, notice that he and Sisyphus have the same avatar. Wordpress links avatars by email, and Jesus' General is powered by WordPress. If you try to plug in the email that Sisyphus lists as his own email on the Team page, however, the avatar won't come up.
Therefore, 'Scruffy' and 'Sisyphus' are the only people that know about the email address; hence, Sisyphus and Scruffy are the same person.
For further confirmation, you can plug "Scruffy McSnufflepuss" into Google, where you can find several links where he spams the website on other blogs. Other than that, however, he is a regualr commenter at Balloon Juice, and is pretty highly respected.
