Is there really a need to have a category for every month? -- Nx / talk 10:45, 25 November 2009 (UTC)
- I suspect this is going to go into the thousands, so yes. - π 11:11, 25 November 2009 (UTC)
- Well everything under 1000 bytes went well except I made one little glitch in the code and they all say they are claiming fair use. - π 11:18, 25 November 2009 (UTC)
- If you say so, though you'll have to create all the individual categories (and keep creating them in the future) and cat them under one parent category so that people can find them. -- Nx / talk 11:22, 25 November 2009 (UTC)
- I am in the middle of writing a script to create the cats. - π 11:27, 25 November 2009 (UTC)
- Perhaps a category for every month is excessive, but unless there's a more efficient way of tracking when an image was flagged up so that we don't have them hanging around for months on end, this will have to be the way. Do we want to put a hard limit on how long they can stay up, say, 6-8 weeks before they get deleted without warning (well, the template is the warning)? Or can a bot possibly message the user that uploaded it to track down copyright info or sort it? pathetic 13:29, 25 November 2009 (UTC)
- The bot is just a messenger, there is no deadline for getting this done. If you want to clean up your own the quickest way is:

<dpl> createdby = Yourname namespace = File uses = Template:Nolicence </dpl>
- That will list all the images that you have uploaded that have been flagged. I could write a second bot that leaves messages on the uploaders talkpage, but for long gone editors that would be a bit pointless. I have only done up to 30KB and tomorrow I shall endeavour to go further. - π 13:35, 25 November 2009 (UTC)
- I figured that, but editing a talk page tends to send out an email - therefore it could grab their attention. Or, a long-gone editor wouldn't care if we did take it down, a lot of the ones that could cause trouble are just linked to on user pages and userbox templates so won't be missed. If it's more hassle than you think it's worth, don't bother. pathetic 13:42, 25 November 2009 (UTC)

Doc[edit]
The instructions don't tell you how to make "the other version". ContribsTalk 13:05, 6 March 2010 (UTC)
- Better? - π 13:08, 6 March 2010 (UTC)
- A bit but all templates should have a list of all parameters in the instructions as a matter of course. You have to know how the thing works to know how to put the date in (why not use: ~~~~~). IMHO examples of the whole thing aren't enuff: Keep It Simple, Stupid. ContribsTalk 14:06, 6 March 2010 (UTC)
Hey, wait a minute[edit]
At least one of my images has this and a license on it: File:Meth3D.jpg Bot gone amuck? Šţěŗĭļė irony meter 16:44, 4 May 2010 (UTC)
