Effort of keeping MediaWiki running
Effort of keeping MediaWiki running
Hello,
Sorry to bother you with a rather out-of-the-blue question, just ignore it if you don't feel like answering. We're thinking about installing MediaWiki at work for ten users or so, but we are wondering about the effort required to keep it up and running. I remember you are the main RW MediaWiki administrator, so I thought I'd ask you. Thanks in advance.
MediaWiki is best for large websites like Wikipedia. For small wikis the overhead and complexity may a bit much. I think something simpler like DokuWiki would be better suited to your needs. Try wikimatrix, it allows you to compare various wiki software and even has a choice wizard.
