Mysteries of the Universe[edit]

The more you know, the less you know
‘tis strange, but that at least I know.
For if evidence defies itself,
then what exactly does it show?

For years we did believe,
the answers were in our hands,
but it seems as if, in passing by
they missed the race of man.

If we have proof that “A” is true,
and proof that “B” is wrong,
but “A” denies that “A” is “A”,
and “B” has been true all along,

Then chances are that “B” would follow
similar to this;
That “A” is false, and “B” is false,
and false, it truly is.

But if “A” is false then “B” is false
which means that “B” is true,
so then what would this mean anyway,
except confusing you?

We cast away the old
leaving room for the new,
but in throwing out the false,
do we throw away the true?

It seems as though each needed answer
lays behind a proverbial door,
but the turn of each imagined handle
simply closes more and more.

So mysteries they do remain,
‘til proven to us all.
And when they are it only fits,
some other law should come along, and reinstate them all.

They Are Still Now[edit]

As they touched down on the earth, in all their frail grace,
From the heavens above the great white plains of the North.
They blessed the land with beauty and with worth.
But now they are still

The black eyes glint from under a mane of silky hair,
The fire of his fists, the water of his skin, eternity forged in iron by his hand.
The terror of them shook the fabled land.
But now he is still

Quoth the dragon nevermore, departed from a western shore,
The radiance of Carfair on her back.
Over seas and under sky, but terror rested in her eye,
As she felt the love of time begin to end.

Draconic wings unfold and shine, in morning light,
The Sleeping King has risen from his den.
His stately form may never rise again.
For now he is still.

Eight white horses on the horizon, the rider of one shines golden,
He draws his blade, an illusion of fire, the sting of steel strikes hard.
This man may never draw this blade again.
For now he is still.

Quoth the dragon nevermore, departed from a western shore,
The radiance of Carfair on her back.
Over seas and under sky, but terror rested in her eye,
As she felt the love of time begin to end.

Now years have passed since the traitor fled,
And the golden land forgotten.
But one still remembers who treads the earth.
Rebirth will occur with Eternity

Quoth the dragon nevermore, departed from a western shore,
The radiance of Carfair on her back.
Over seas and under sky, but terror rested in her eye,
As she felt the love of time begin to end.

Love's Judgement[edit]

Dedicated to Aschlafly

And you thought it was love,
The love of God.
And you said it was love,
The love of men.
But it was hate of other men,
Who seemed different.

But all are the same in the end.
And so all is equal before.
So think of this before you send,
That judgement of peace or of war.

All shall be judged by survival.
All shall be put to the test.
None shall pass life without trial,
Never above all the rest.

For you thought that love meant your country.
Or you thought that love meant your lord.
But this is your greatest mistake,
To love for none but yourself.
For this love is in intrest of you,
And in love, returned love is due.
You did not truly believe when you saw them,
That they waged the same war on you.

For all are the same in the end.
And so all is equal before.
So think of this before you send,
That judgement of peace or of war.

All shall be judged by survival.
All shall be put to the test.
None shall pass life without trial,
Never above all the rest.

Red Day at Dawn[edit]

As memories of fallen rain,
An essence here of those long slain.
Reunion of those once divided,
And order that they once provided.
The death of Artlòn King of Kings,
As Elf-lord wars Elf-lady sings.
A magic chant within the mist,
The younger brother’s deadly fist.
The Persecutor overthrown,
A righteous man upon the throne.
As memories of fallen rain,
An essence here of joy and pain.

A Love Poem[edit]

Living for nothing but living itself,
Loving to live with a passion of fire,
Living for loving and loving to live,
Passion itself is our greatest desire.

Damned dark fire that poses as passion,
Loving to ruin our lives with hate,
Burning to drive us to anger and sorrow,
Living with no love our only escape.

There will be fires that burn in our hearts,
There will be clouds that will make our eyes rain,
But I know for certain the fire can't win,
For loving of living will overcome pain.

Bittersweet[edit]

I don't really like this poem. It's not my style. I just wanted to try some dramatic poetry. May have been a mistake.

It sounds like nightfall, looks like dawn,
Tell me where more beauty lies.
My whole life’s fate laid out upon,
This single night, or is it day?

I wake from dreaming then I fade,
Knowing not what lives, what dies.
For in this time my dreams are made,
But know not sleep from waking.

Did I hold you or did my mind,
So tempting shut my eyes,
And dream of her, but leave me blind?
Or was she really here?

And there she is so real,
No sleep to give disguise,
And that I live to feel,
And for that touch I rise.

To life without a warning.
To look into her eyes,
To feel the touch of morning,
Surpass all other lives.

But hate that bitter death,
To rob this world of mine.
To take away my breath.
Yet leave me standing still.

Take away my life!
Don’t be so quick to act.
For in that final pact,
Which seals with a knife,

A vow you cannot make again,
Though you may need it twice.
For death will hold you to that vow,
And swearing has its price.

So I let love take me to another place
Where the songbird sings of morrow
And there I saw him teasing me.
A cut that bled with sorrow.

They tried to rob my mind.
They lived to cause me greif.
I took the singer’s blade,
And thrust it to its sheath.

I saw the world grow cold and fade,
I saw the world quake.
And once again my life was laid
Wide open and I saw,

That when I loved the other world it was only love to play,
But now I needed more and wished to live another day.

And then I saw her mournful grace,
She came to me and said,
“Why don’t you look the same?”
My heart then turned to lead.

For I realized I could never live,
I’d paid to her death’s price.
And now that I think back on that,
I’m glad that I did not think twice.

For love or life can never take me,
This I see and know.
But as long as I can stay with her,
I’ll never want to go.

It does no good to say what your going to do,
If you know that you can’t do it deep inside,
But it’s our lives goal to be what we want to be,
And that’s what I’m going to be until I die.
