2025 RationalWiki 'Oregon Plan' Fundraiser

There is no RationalWiki without you. We are a small non-profit with no staff—we are hundreds of volunteers who document pseudoscience and crankery around the world every day. We will never allow ads because we must remain independent. We cannot rely on big donors with corresponding big agendas. We are not the largest website around, but we believe we play an important role in defending truth and objectivity.

Fighting pseudoscience isn't free.
We are 100% user-supported! Help and donate $5, $10, $20 or whatever you can today with PayPal Logo.png!

I have decided to take a break from a variety of sites, including Twitter, reddit, Facebook, Tumblr, RationalWiki, and Wikipedia (I'll still browse Wikipedia, but not edit). A lot of positive changes have happened recently, such as having an appointment for HRT, no longer feeling suicidal, I am going to a physical school after years of being in an online school, I am now a vegan, and I finally live in Houston (which I have wanted to do for years). But I have decided I don't want to share my thoughts, opinions, and neuroses with the entire world, and most people don't like me anyway.

This is not an impulse decision. I have slowly come to the conclusion I should use the Internet to socialize with people I actually know, starting with quitting Facebook on the 21st of August. I decided to quit reddit on the 5th of September. And I am making the final decision now. I will spend my free time socializing with people (offline and online), watching My Little Pony and Steven Universe, doing real-life activism, being a student and hopefully eventually a chemist, browsing interesting YouTube videos, listening to music, and hopefully developing an exercise habit.

I am sure you don't care, like at all. This is for me. But if you are reading:
