RationalWiki's 2019 Fundraiser

There is no RationalWiki without you. We are a small non-profit with no staff – we are hundreds of volunteers who document pseudoscience and crankery around the world every day. We will never allow ads because we must remain independent. We cannot rely on big donors with corresponding big agendas. We are not the largest website around, but we believe we play an important role in defending truth and objectivity.

If everyone seeing this today donates $5, we will meet our goal for 2019.

Fighting pseudoscience isn't free.
We are 100% user-supported! Help and donate $5, $20 or whatever you can today with PayPal Logo.png!

Robert Kiyosaki (born April 8, 1947) is an "As Seen on TV" financial guru who grew famous in the late 90's and early 2000's with his line of Rich Dad Poor Dad seminars and books.

The Inspiration[edit]

Kiyosaki was deeply involved in two other financial movements with suspicious roots. In the 1980's Robert Kiyosaki was heavily involved in Amway. He was also a speaker for the Money and You Organization, which was in turn founded by Marshall Thurber, a graduate of Erhard Seminars Training. Initially, many of his book sales were to other Amway members, an efficient move since, if you have Amway, there's really no reason to waste time finding your own gullible dupes.[1] [2].
