Welcome, Philip! Take a look at TK talk page for a good idea of who is here and how they are.

Hey TK, you forgot to log in. --Kels 10:47, 25 May 2007 (CDT)
Why do we keep getting these? They kicked us all of their wiki but they all sign up here. It can't be to prevent impersonation, who would impersonate this guy. Oh well welcome and enjoy your stay. - User 01:07, 1 February 2009 (EST)

u r real?[edit]

WLOG, I assume that you are the real one, and heavens, I don't want to make fun of your way to run CP. But here are a few thoughts:

  1. Your public relation is bad. Real bad. If you mess things up - and at least, someone did - you inform your editors. Yep, it sucks to be in the midst of a crisis and have to write some lines on a blog or somewhere else to keep the public informed (especially, if you know that you will have solved the problems in another five minutes - trust me, that never works :-)
  2. If something big and awful happens - let's say, you loose the data of a whole week - you are humble. And informative. Can't stress informative enough. A sorry for your inconvenience may work for a much smaller loss, but it's simply not enough in your situation.
  3. If there are ongoing problems, causing 503s, you inform the public to keep them happy. If you're attacked, you get at least sympathy, if it's your fault, well, most admins have sympathy anyway, as all make mistakes.
  4. Ask for help. It's a kind of information, too.
  5. Since a couple of days, the math-tags are broken. Different users addressed the problem on different locations. No answers. Uninformed editors are unhappy editors.
  6. And that's the rub: unhappy editors stop to edit. By mishandling situations you can turn sympathy into annoyance.

I don't know how many of your editors had to visit rationalwiki to find out that they weren't the only ones encountering problems. Good for us, bad for you l'arronsicut fur in nocte 03:38, 3 February 2009 (EST)
