A 76 year old black gentleman
- Certainly something spectacularly bizarre, or bizarrely spectacular. LowKey (talk) 02:22, 9 February 2012 (UTC)
So it ain't so.
Brad, your comments on my talkpage have confused me and have rather perturbed me also. So let me try and explain something to you....
I was unemployed for a period of 2 months last year and was sitting round the house creating little projects to keep myself busy. I made a new television aerial out of cooper cabling from my stereo speakers, created delightful alcoholic cocktails and created a sign that read "No retards or people with deformities" which I displayed on my gate one afternoon. Now this sign is hand written in a black marker pen on a large sheet of plywood which, on the reverse side, displays the street number of my house in white paint (I live up a rather dark, wooded path so the numbering needs to be large and bright). I erected this sign and took a photo mainly for Human's enjoyment as I was on the phone with him at the time. Then I shared it on Rationalwiki and I left it up that day so when my wife arrived home from work and knocked on the door I asked her what she was doing at the door, hadn't she seen the sign?
We both had a laugh (my wife's was rather forced as in "Jesus, I married this freak?") and I took it down again because I didn't want to frighten the mail man. Occasionally, when I have a party or have people over I'll erect it again for comedic value - I have a rather large social circle and am know for my rather twisted and bizarre sense of humour.
But the joke is old now and the sign once again sits harmlessly displaying the street number.
So, in light of your grossly accusatory and bullshit comments on my talkpage, what can we gather from this? You seem to assume that I hold some real prejudice against people with mental retardation and that I am expressing a hateful opinion though a sign which declares my house to be a place where people with retardation or deformities are not welcome. Well, that is complete an utter garbage. I am aware of your situation and of those in your care - we have spoken in some depth about it - and have ever once made any comment the was anything less than compassionate? Have I ever expressed any hatred or malignant contempt? No, I have not. I hate no one and I would consider a damn sight more compassionate than many of your Christian brothers. I made a sign to amuse some friends and family (and myself I might add). But does said sign say anything about me personally or the views I hold? No. I am guilty of poor taste at most. (I have emailed you this as well. I also feel strongly about your misguided insinuations). AceModerator 23:43, 7 June 2012 (UTC)
- Don't believe him. He disinvited me to his wedding because of my horrifyingly anti-social behavior and because I drag my right foot and hang my head a bit when I'm very very drunk, making me looking strikingly like a zombie but for the loud obscenities and anti-theistic rants. Only one of seven of these claims is true. 00:12, 8 June 2012 (UTC)
