2025 RationalWiki 'Oregon Plan' Fundraiser

There is no RationalWiki without you. We are a small non-profit with no staff—we are hundreds of volunteers who document pseudoscience and crankery around the world every day. We will never allow ads because we must remain independent. We cannot rely on big donors with corresponding big agendas. We are not the largest website around, but we believe we play an important role in defending truth and objectivity.

Fighting pseudoscience isn't free.
We are 100% user-supported! Help and donate $5, $10, $20 or whatever you can today with PayPal Logo.png!

The article on bras dismisses the bra-cancer link with an unsupported statement from the ACS, and with no discussion of the theory behind the book, Dressed to Kill, which is disparaged in an off-hand way. The fact is that there are many studies on the bra-cancer link, which I have included in the edit, with references. If RW is trying to promote rational dialogue and scientifically-based information, then this information needs to be available to readers, instead of the current hit piece on the cancer concept. So I am putting the edits back in. If anyone has a problem with a particular reference, then please address them one at a time, and explain as well why the ACS statement, which is only about the book Dressed to Kill, is sufficient to discount all the research that has been done on this topic. And please explain how you can ignore studies and conclude bras do not cause cancer without any evidence, especially on a website proclaiming to be about science. Keep in mind that the tobacco-cancer link was disregarded and dismissed for decades, too.
