I think it's phenomenal meself, especially how quickly you knocked it up. Props to you. Do we believe people will be able to figure out how to add or edit it? And yes, I suggest that anything that gets over, say, ten (or some arbitrary number) votes gets promoted into BoCP? DogP 17:36, 13 November 2007 (EST)
- My proposal to setup a script that once a month does the following: pulls out of the database those poll_id numbers that have more than "x" number of votes, outputs those numbers to a wiki bot that will then archive wigo and copy in the higher vote getters into best of, then the script blanks the results for that month and we start again.
- I have made it about as easy as I can to add things to the wigo template all you need to do is look at the number of the last entry and do:
|#= *blagh blagh blagh

Without the asterisks it looks better, but then it sorts by number, which doesn't "work". Also, the entry with no number doesn't show up. Other than that, it kicks butt!!! Also, I don't seem to be able to get them to go below "1", although that doesn't matter, it's high positives that do. human 18:53, 13 November 2007 (EST)
- The number has to be there because of the way parameters are used in the parser function, I can see about getting negatives to show up. I am not sure how to handle Astrix issue but can work on it over time.....is it good enough to think about moving it "live" to the real wigo yet? tmtoulouse frustrate 18:58, 13 November 2007 (EST)
- Fixed the astrix problem, working on the negative problem...but its harder than I thought for various reasons. tmtoulouse frustrate 19:40, 13 November 2007 (EST)
- Maybe give the "zero" position a non-zero value? Say "0" would have a value of 100, the "-1" would actually be 99? CЯacke®
- The problem has to do with the way the votes get parsed in when there is a "0" value in the vote.......I am kind of burnt on this at the moment so I will have to come back and look at it from a new angle later I think. But in the mean time I think its good enough to go for now. The images fro thumbs up and thumbs down can be changed at anytime once you guys decide what you want. tmtoulouse frustrate 19:56, 13 November 2007 (EST)

- Yeah, take it live, that'll debug it fast! This is a great idea. Oh, and will entries with no "poll" display, or do we have to default to having the poll on all? human 19:59, 13 November 2007 (EST)
- Poll on all, the less proactive people have to be the better (not to mention that encoding an on/off function for it would be bitch. tmtoulouse frustrate 20:00, 13 November 2007 (EST)

By the way, I think the port'n'polish to Best of should happen more often than monthly if possible. Say, the week that is roughly 3-10 days old? And then insert "break" headers in WIGO to make editing it easier? Just random ideas... to make your life more difficult... human 20:02, 13 November 2007 (EST)
