I have been thinking about this and praying, and I have to conclude that for the time being I morally cannot bring myself to participate in a project that smears a confessing Christian as a Muslim. The name "Barack" has African roots, not Muslim roots, and I am inclined to believe his Christianity as 1 John 4:15 reads - If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the son of God, God lives in him and he in God. I interpret this verse to accept as genuine one who professes Christianity unless I have specific reason to disbelieve them based on their actions. Is Obama's Christianity a liberal variation? Yes. Is it Muslim? No. Americans deserve a debate based on the issues, not on something with tenuous evidence that implies Islam (if he really was Muslim, the evidence would be clearer than saying "57 states". Until I see specific actions that lead me to believe otherwise, I will not participate in such a smear.
