Parting Words from Sideways
I have no intention of contacting TK to appeal against my thoroughly unjustified ban, or asking any administrator to intervene with him on my behalf. I do not want to give TK the satisfaction of participating in his power games, or to contribute any further to a site which allows and even encourages such ruthless bullying to occur.
There have been some decent editors and administrators here, though their numbers are now relatively few, who have been doing all they can to improve the factual content of Conservapedia and to stand up to the rampant abuse of authority by others. These reasonable and likeable long-term editors are currently leaving in droves. Some have been issued with permanent blocks for no obvious reason, even while their positive contributions are being commended by other administrators. Others have simply left in frustration or disgust at the current atmosphere of hostility and suppression, or minimised their involvement here.
Take a look at what is happening on your site. You are thoroughly sidelining and alienating the core of honest, hardworking, conservative editors, by siding with deceitful thugs and bullies such as Bugler and TK, or just allowing them to run amok while you bury your head in the sand. You might not see through them, but be assured that everybody else does, including at least some of your administrators. I know of no other website managed as brutishly as this one, where good editors are threatened or banned simply for expressing their opinions or querying the blocks of others.
But I suppose you know your own business, and it is apparent that you are more interested in using this site to score political points than for any kind of collaborative educational resource. It is a pity.
Anyway, I would like to thank a few of those decent and reasonable editors for times they have stood up to tyranny, or mediated in disputes to restrain the more vicious elements here. I won't embarrass these individuals by naming them here, but if any of them read this, I hope they will know who they are. I wish them well.
I wish you a pleasant Christmas, and hope that you will reflect on the future of your site during 2009.
